Unfortunately the garden is not well-maintained I thought, however, you can enjoy great view from this park since it's on the hill. You can see flowers in the half are flower farm and in another half, you can enjoy great view of Biei. It's very peaceful.

The view is very nice as it is a observatory area and couples come here to take wedding pictures.
There is 1 observatory tower with a small cafe inside but the day we went it seem closed so not sure if it's in operation anymore.
Other than that, nice view with a bell tower for photo shooting with lavender as a backdrop.

I enjoyed the park a lot. It has great open views of Biei, an Observation deck, lavender fields, perfect for wedding shoots as it has a wedding bell and a nice hill for romantic photo shots. There’s a large parking lot with toilet facilities. Can stop for 30 minutes or so.

Hinode Park is about 1.2 Km from the KamiFurano station on the JR Furnao line.
The Park is famous for the lavender gardens during the flowering season in Hokkaido. There is a parking lot at the entry point of the park. From there , a short climb up the hill leads to a wonderful view point of the surrounding landscape.
Especially in winters, the snow capped mountain ranges provide a very scenic backdrop to the town.

Hinode Park is the town of Kami Furano’s lavender patch. It has a parking lot at it lower end as well as at its hilltop. We drove up all the way to the viewpoint building.

You have a great view of the entire Furano region down below and the volcanic Tokachi Mountains behind. Some smoke is clearly visible from one of the mountain tops.

Unlike Farm Tomita in the town of Naka Furano, this is a fully open hill with larger lavender fields. When we visited the park on July 7th, 2017, lavenders weren’t yet in full bloom. A gardener who was weeding in a flower patch told us it would require at least a week or two. When we visited the same park in 2016 on July 6, the same lavenders weren’t yet in full bloom, either. Probably the lavenders at Hinode Park are late bloomers than those at Farm Tomita in Naka Furano.

The hilltop has a rest house/view point, an ice cream shop that was there in 2016 wasn’t available this year.

This is one of the largest lavender field in Hokkaido. It spread over a large hill. It looks like a location for pre wedding. There is no public transport available here.

The park has less tourists and a bit uphill. So you can get a good view of the whole land. Worth a visit if you have a lot of time in Furano.

Hinode Park is a municipal park with lavender fields in the town of Kamifurano.

We visited the park on July 07, but unfortunately we were about one full week to ten days too early to enjoy the flowers. An attendant at the viewing building told us that the flowers are slow to bloom this year mainly due to the very rainy June weather in the Furano region.

The overall scale of the lavender fields is said to be big by the Japanese standard, however, it is miniscule by the world standard.

The views of Mt. Tokachidake (an active volcano) and the neighbouring mountain peaks looked great from the park.

Great views from the hill. Nice wedding bell too.

Don't park at the bottom and walk up, there's a car park up top.

Although we came after the lavender season, we were delighted to find a small field of red and purple and a heart shaped flower patch maintained for late comers like us. The canteen was closed but the observation desk still offers the best view of Hinode, the farms, the Furano hills and the nearby Kamifurano town. Different to the postcard images but still breath-taking!
