I couldn't recommend anyone better than Guided Cycling Tour Biei. It is accessible from Biei station, the staff are friendly, and they will willingly tell you of nice spots around. This is my second trip to Biei and I am glad that I asked for a guide as there are a lot of hidden places only a guide can show you. Tomi is a great guide (and also a good photographer!) adjusting the course he will take you depending on your interest and the best scenes around. He willingly showed me around Biei, explaining the crops being harvested around the area and shared a few secrets only a local guide would know. After the trip, Tomi explained to me other paths (included the secret paths which are not in the map) which I can go by myself in the next days. All in all, a nice experience in Biei, going around with the knowledge from a local guide. I recommend to anyone who will be coming to Biei to request for a guide that will take you around Biei even just in your first day as Biei's sceneries changes every year, every season!

Joined this tour back in late Sept to experience another side of Biei. We had taken a local bus tour to visit the highlights, but I wanted to experience the rolling hills of Biei on a bike. Our guide was Tomi and he was super friendly + funny + spoke excellent English. He took us along the non-touristy route with lots of rolling hills, patchwork farmland; it was super serene and peaceful (no cars or people that day) + I definitely wouldn’t have accident stumbled upon it by myself; you really do need someone to guide you there. You really get to experience nature. We also saw a small local photo gallery along the way, which made for a nice break and lunched at an udon place. Really enjoyed it, I would say it was the highlight of our trip!

This autumn tour was my second experience with Biketour Tomi. Tomi San will get you to the places where buses or cars can't. No worries for people who are not athlectic because you will ride on an assisting bicycle. Tomi San is also fluent in English and very nice. Trying delish local meal is a must!

My son and I enjoyed the full day tour of both Biei and Blue Pond ride. Tomi is a very experienced guide and took great care to ensure everyone in the group was comfortable riding. He paced it to suit well for the whole team. He is passionate in sharing his knowledge and love for the beauty of Hokkaido’s nature. We were fortunate to have good sunny day on the Biei trip but encountered rainy spell during the Blue Pond ride. Nonetheless we enjoyed the lunch at his favourite local restaurant which serves delicious food. He also takes great pictures and shared it with us. Highly recommended for those who wants to enjoy Biei and be away from the crowd.
