Definitely worth a visit if you are in the Biei-Furano area.

What a magnificent place. It's just a pond/lake (too large to be a pond, but small to be a lake) but mum and I spent good 2 hours here just walking around it. It's tranquil beauty is a big out of this world, I felt like I was in heaven. No words can describe it.

We stopped here between our drive from Biei to Furano. The lake looked surreal and I would recommend everyone make a stop here if in the area. There is no admission charge and the path is well maintained, with plenty of parking spaces. After visiting the Blue Pone, you then can say that you've visited one of the MAC OS'... More

View was incredible! The fact that this pond is blue is amazing!! I would recommend to visit this place by driving. We drove there and saw people Waiting for the bus in the middle of the woods. There is just the pond there and nothing else. Recommend that you walk further up to the left to see a view of... More

Drove for 45 mins from furano to get to the blue pond. When we got there, there were heaps of people. But all very orderly walking in one direction. The blue of the pond looks unreal. On the opposite side of the track, the kids were fascinated with the many dandelions. The place can be covered within an hour and... More

Amazing blue in pond that bring with peace in mind. Natural walk with tiny rocks. Plenty of car parking, not crowd. We take public bus that limited to fixed time and not frequency schedule. Too crowd to get in bus without seat, stand for 30 mins, behind schedule arrival.

If you are old enough, you may find my title familiar. It is the last sentence which British Pop Group 'WHAM!' sang for their song 'Blue'. That despair note was how I felt when I visited this attraction. Things did not get off to a good start when my GPS in my car led me to the attraction's entrance which... More

Although the blue colour is not natural but man made, nonetheless the pond is still worth a visit. Quite small and the walking circuit can be completed in 10-15 minutes.

Only a short walk from the car park and then you get to this breathtaking attraction. We were so lucky with the weather - the pond with its natural blue tinge but also reflecting the clear blue sky above. Best spot for a photo - keep walking along the bank until you get to an area where the trees have... More

I guess this is a must-see if you're in Biei. The pond was really blue on a beautiful summer day. Lots of tourists though, so it isn't as tranquil and relaxing as one might like. But worth a drive there as you will probably get beautiful photos of the pond.
