bus runs a few times a day from Otaru and once a day from Sapporo; disappointingly, gate to walk to lighthouse was closed today (8 July)--that means that the sight can be visited easily in around 30 minutes

We went to this place on a cloudy day so the water was not really famous 'Shakotan' blue, but it was still very beautiful. It would be spectacular on a sunny day. A very nice walk to the tip of the peninsula. Don't miss it...More
