日本海に突き出た岩場にある化石

雷電国道の一角に弁慶の薪積み岩があります。弁慶が薪を積んだあとに化石になったといわれている岩です。日本海の荒波が作り出した奇岩の一つで自然の造形を楽しむ事ができます。夕日の時間帯が最も美しい時間帯です。

アクセスは良くないです。そして分かりにくいです。
ただ、周りは景色がよいですし、穴場といえば穴場になるのかもしれません。

島内海岸沿いの、山の中腹に柱状節理を横にしたような岩が出ている。
トンネルのすぐ上。
車から走りながら見るのは無理です。

日本海側に多い弁慶の○○のひとつ。
本当に弁慶、来たのかなあ？
弁慶ファンというより奇岩好きならいいのかも。

岩内町のホームページで観光スポットを調べた際に、自然景観として紹介されていたので、ドライブの際に立ち寄ってみようと思ってましたが、看板が何も出ていなかったので通り過ぎてしまい、来た道を戻って探しました。

寿都から岩内方面に走っていて、トンネルに入る直前に駐車スペースがありますので、そこで停まって上を見上げると遠くに大きな岩が見えます。

弁慶が積み上げた薪だそうですが、かなり遠いのでよく分からないと思います。
