Yes - biggest wooden Buddha north of Tokyo.
Yes - gorgeous Jodo sect temple inside a deceptively simple exterior.

But REALLY go for the current Chief Priest Narita-san.
If you are lucky enough to visit when he is working and has time - you are in for a treat because he is a lively, funny, wonderful interpreter of all things Buddhist and particularly the temple in his charge.
He'll demonstrate the drum and chime sounding...show you the healing Buddha with the detached hand that you touch to your afflicted body part and much much more.
He speaks English, but even more than that - he is just one of life's shining individuals. You'll feel invigorated just meeting him :-)
