Interesting thing to do if it's raining out.

This museum is an interesting building and inside it are numerous works by Nishimura, a very privileged and wealthy man who was sent to Paris as a young artist. He found success there and I believe his family put together this building in his honor. The fact that he was able to go back and forth between Hokkaido and Europe back in his day is unique and his work reflects that. An interesting retreat for a rainy day, probably only need 45min or so to go through. They had an interesting photography exhibition going on when we went which showed how difficult farming was in Hokkaido in the early 1900's and that was truly interesting. The photos showed very humble lifestyles of the Hokkaido people and how difficult it was to obtain good potatoes and corn back in the day. Even though the photography exhibition was separate from the works by Nishimura, we really appreciated the exhibit.
