大邸宅の2階建て建物で当時がしのばれます。

年に何度かだけ内部を見学できる日があるそうですが、現地では分かりませんでした。しかしながら、外から見るだけでも、洋風な明り取りと、和風の１階窓が並んでいる点は、目を引きます。

海辺にそびえるカクジュウ佐藤家

寿都湾の東海岸の国道２２９号沿いに建つ立派な漁場建築物です。１階が格子戸で２階は洋風の上下窓で寄棟屋根の中央に洒落た六角の明かり採りがあります。住宅の間口は２５ｍ近くで大きく、海に正面向きに立ちとても目立ちます。明治初期の建築物で北海道有形文化財ですが寿都町で現在整備中のため中は見られませんでした。今年１１月には国指定史跡に指定されたようです。
