積丹半島、寿都湾を望む弁慶伝説の岬

その昔、弁慶が義経再挙兵の援軍を待ったという伝説が残る岬で、国道沿いの駐車場の先に弁慶像が立っています。
周辺は北～西向きの海岸で、特に夕日がきれいで、夕刻に訪れるのがおすすめですが、天気の良い日の日中に訪れても、青くきれいな海原を見渡すことができます。
海岸の高台から、青い海にすっと伸びる積丹半島、小さく風車が見える寿都湾、そして振り返るとどっしりとした狩場山が遠くにそびえる様子が眺められます。
岬は国道沿いの休憩ポイントとなりそうですが、トイレ、休憩小屋そして飲料の自販機があるほかは、お店などはなく、景色を眺める程度となります。
飲食は、この先、寿都の市街にある道の駅や海産物などを売るお店でできます。

寿都の南側にある岬です。この場所は、あまり知られていませんが、岬の先端からみる景色は絶景です。駐車場も広くて快適です。

弁慶の銅像が立派

道のカーブした辺りに案内が出てきて広めの駐車場があります。場所がらか、人はほぼいない。弁慶の銅像が中々立派です。周りは散策路があり岬の突端にある灯台まで歩けます。岬にある為、周りは海しかありません。ドライブの休憩には、とてもいい場所です。

この時期ほんの短い期間だというホッケ釣り。
弁慶の銅像を観に来て、それより釣り人の多さにびっくり！
夕陽の美しさは流石日本海。
トイレ、休憩所も完備されていて寒い時は休憩所で強風しのぎできます。
千畳敷になっており、海に降りての散歩もできますよ。

武蔵坊弁慶ゆかりの岬です

風力発電が海岸線に並んでいる寿都町を抜けた先にある岬です。時間があったので少し遠回りをして行ってみました。武蔵坊弁慶ゆかりの岬で伝承が伝わっていて弁慶の銅像もありました。ココまで来ると積丹ブルーの世界はありませんが、雄大でとても気持ちの良い景色でした。

大きな弁慶の銅像がたっている岬です日本海を一望できます。おすすめは少し距離は島牧方面に向かったところにある道から岬の下に降りていく道です。海で遊ぶこともできるスポットです。

景色が素晴らしいです。

源義経と弁慶の伝説がある岬ですが、もともとはアイヌ語の地名が転訛して弁慶岬と呼ばれるようになったようです。
弁慶の銅像と、灯台と散策路、広めの駐車場、トイレと休憩所はありますが、売店等はありません。
それでも、青い海と空、緑の丘陵が織りなす景色は素晴らしく、ドライブに疲れた心と体を癒してくれること間違いなし。
ただ、季節によっては海霧で真っ白になることもあります。

強風下の弁慶岬

May 2018

　毎年ゴールデンウィーク前後に訪れる函館、札幌方面、2018年は４月30日から５月３日とゴールデンウィークの谷間に訪問。函館から札幌までレンタカーで移動しました。道央道を大沼から長万部へ、一般道に降りて弁慶岬に向かいました。朝のうち晴れ間もあり、森町のオニウシ公園の桜を見たりしながら昼前に弁慶岬に到着。このころになると天候は曇り、海の色も積丹ブルーの延長線をうかがうことはできませんでした。車のドアを開けようとすると一気に開放され、風の強さにドアを持っていかれました。弁慶岬には整備された駐車場もあり、自販機やトイレもありました。
　弁慶岬に建つ武蔵坊弁慶の銅像は、衣川の戦いに敗れ、蝦夷地に生き延びた武蔵坊弁慶が、日本海に向かって後に続く常陸坊海尊の到着を待ちわびる姿を模した立派で威厳のある像です。像の基礎には像の由来を記載した碑文もあります。
