One of the best place to reflect on life's blessing due to the tranquil environment. If you are into photography, the lake's so placid that you can find many chance to take "mirror" shots of the surroundings using the placid lake surfaces.

The two lakes are very attractive and present a pleasant, calming feeling brought on by the sheer natural beauty around, not forgetting the silent threat of Mt Kamagetake

My top 3 activities that you should definitely do if you travel here during the winter period ( Nov ~ March ). ** snow mobiling ( you have the options to ride by yourself, 2 people or groups using a sledge attach to the snow mobile ). ** ワカサギ釣り ( during Nov ~ March wakasagi fishing )! This kind of activity involves placing a fishing rod ( with bait ) and place it through a hole drilled into the frozen lake. This is a really great bonding experience for couples and family plus, a good way to experience patience ! P.S the only edible fish ( wakasagi ) can be used later on to make tempura in the store ! If it’s your first time doing this, you will have an instructor guide you. ** Walking around the islands dotted around the lake that are connect by bridges. Best place to experience breath taking landscape such a the Mt. Komagatake . Perfect place for photographers and bloggers !

Onuma Lake is very large with several walking trails. You can take a boat ride instead if you have no time. Many local people will have their packed lunch on the way along their planned routes around the lake. It is really an enjoyable exercise with scenic views around. Recommended.

For person connected to nature this is a great place, not over exploited like many. You can casually walk around the lake and enjoy solitude and nature. There are boar rides available to cruise around the lake and view the many islands. There is an excellent view available of an extinct volcano which occured in recent times. Row boats etc are availble for hire. Enjoy a picnic lunch.
