We hadn't pre-reserved seats on the limited express Hokuto train and I was dismayed to find it was fully booked. We were able to get a seat in a non reserved carriage but I recommend you reserve the day before. We left our luggage in a... On our way from Lake Toya to Hakodate, we stopped at Onuma Park for lunch and for a walk-about. From the large central car park, it was not difficult having an easy stroll around the area. But as it was early summer, the flowers have not fully bloomed. Thus the scenery was plentiful of greenery without the full blast of... More

Nature is rich. I was healed very much. The autumn colored leaves are particularly recommended. The campground is recommended, too.

We had family pictures taken at this park. It is very picturesque and we had views of both the snow-capped mountain and the still waters.

Onuma quasi national park is one of the most scenic place I have visited. We spent about two hours walking around the beautiful park and the surrounding lakes. We dropped by to visit the park on our way to Hakodate from Lake Toya. One thing to note is if you intend to deposit your luggage, deposit it with the Onuma... More

I went twice here during my stay in Hokkaido. The first time to enjoy the beautiful weather, the scenery and for a nice bike ride. The second time, I had to return because I had unfortunately left my wallet in the locker by the station. As to be expected from Japan, I was able to pick up my wallet with... More

We spent whole day taking photos and island hopping around Onuma Lake. If you like to spend time in nature, this is a must do in Onuma Lake. Go for the 50 minutes trail and you get to see more side of the lake. Not only you get to enjoy the view, you also have company of the raptors flying... More

Onuma Koen Quasi National Park is a worthwhile place to spend a day outdoors in the countryside. We hired bicycles (from our hotel) and cycled around the wider area, which is well worth it. The weather was great so it was a lovely day - the park is beautiful. We tasted the local milk, ice cream, cheese, beef and tomatoes.... More

Just a short walking distance from the train station you enter the walking track through the lake. It is a path that winds its way through a series of small islands connected by arched Japanese style bridges. The forest is quite lush and comes down to the water much of which has water lilies. It is very picturesque.
