If weather is fine, it would worth to stop by and spend an hr or 2 exploring this park when you are driving away from Hakodate heading to Sapporo or North. While we were there, weather was gloomy with light drizzle. Yet we found it...More

Just 1 stop from Shin-Hakodate where I was staying. Scenic and relaxing. Not touristy, visited mainly by locals. Quiet and peaceful, feels unspoiled. Yets there are many activities for families. Do remember to try the Onuma beef at the little eatery right outside.

This is the most beautiful park I’ve ever been to. I have an appointment to enjoy coffee and apple pie on the lake, and enjoy a leisurely view of the landscape. This is the best memory I have ever experienced.

We missed the true color of Autumn as we were a little late. Nevertheless, the ride there was pleasant and enjoyed the sceneries along the way. We were early before the crowd were there and took a nice and quite walk around the park.

Onuma Koen is a phenomenal day trip to undertake. Easy to access (JR station Onuma-Koen), and virtually a small village unto itself, this is a most interesting wetland we have visited; ducks are flitting around, various birds being seen/ heard and with the onset of...More

Not too sure cos we rented a car instead of taking train. However we know that most train stations in Japan has luggage storage but some are very limited in small towns.
