Michael’s team are excellent host. Always attentive to every need without you even asking. My wife was feeling a bit sea sick after a while (She easily gets that way) and the Captain pulled the boat to a private beach and we and one of the crew swam to the beach and allowed her to rest for about 30 mins. We caught some fish and the wives had a great time with us, overall.…

What an awesome experience for us and our family, which includes 3 kids under the age of 10! Gerardo and Robert guided us through a day of sightseeing from Playa Panama, throughout various neighboring beaches. All the way we saw beautiful manta rays and even two huge sea turtles. We stopped at a secluded beach (they were careful to pick one that was not too choppy), snorkeled for a bit, and spent the afternoon fishing! I didn’t think the kids would enjoy the fishing part as much but they LOVED it and didn’t want to stop. Thanks again.…

Booked a half day fishing with Sea Star in Costa Rico. Everyone had a great day. If I did again I would book +6 hours or even full day. All the crew were great with a lot of local knowledge. Tons of things to see with sea turtles, dolphins and hump backed whales. Couldn’t get any fresher fish as the guys prepared what we caught on deck. Would definitely fish with these guys again if I got the chance. …

We booked one day of fishing prior to our trip to Costa Rica. We’ve had some bad fishing/charter experiences in the past and didn’t want the same experiences in Costa Rica. Although we fully intended to book more days with someone when we got there. We just thought we’d see what the first day brought. As luck would have it we landed a blue marlin and two mahi mahi on our first day. That made us book two more trips with the big eye throughout our trip. Our second day we got skunked but our third had us on 4 mahi. The Big crew of Gerald, Louis and Stewart work hard to get everyone on a fish and had a lot of experience on the water. Louis allowed me to gaffe my sons mahi mahi which made the experience. After our catches the crew would clean and package(with ziplocks we provided) that we took to our condo and ate throughout the week. We also brought home to the states about 25 pounds of filets. No need to pack a lunch on the Big Eye. After we’d catch a fish it would be cleaned and Stewart would set off on a great snack of ceviche. They also provided a fruit platter, local breakfast snacks, local beer(which we never ran out of) and some of the best made sandwiches we’ve ever had. We’ve fished in Mexico, Hawaii and now Costa Rica. The crew of the big eye was definitely the best. The price was more than I expected for Central America but we were given a little discount for the two additional days we added. In the long run it’s still fishing and there’s no guarantees but we were indeed happy with our experiences with Sea Star Cr Sportfishing. My advice to booking? Use pay pal as there’s an 18% tax if you pay with a credit card on the beach during pickup/drop off.…
