Stopped here for a couple of hours to have lunch and ended up spending some nice time strolling through the old part of town looking at some small churches and old houses. Finished up by relaxing in a cafe along the harbor and simply enjoying the nice weather and slow pace.

Visited Muros today, I wished I was staying there a few days. 45km Away from Santiago but easily a day trip to Santiago by car,
This pretty little village was sunny, with coastal vibes and heaps of restaurants and bars to choose from. 2 -3 nights would be a great relaxation.

Having stopped for what we thought would be a short break, we spent several hours here. If you walk up from the harbour you find the old town. We particulaly liked the church Iglesia Antiga Colexiata de Santa Maria, where we were allowed to walk around just before a local wedding. The church was decorated beautifully and the wedding singers were rehearsing which added to the experience. The lovely lady on the door was brilliant at explaining in English about the church and to our surprise the exhibitions in different parts of the church had English translations, a rarity for this part of Spain. We then followed a small tour leaflet around the village before having lunch in the main square which was also a very nice experience. We would definately stop here again.

We enjoyed walking thru the seeming unorganized streets that mostly range from 6' to 15' wide. Today was market day and that provided a lot on entertainment as well.

We enjoyed strolling around the old town and hanging out for the evening. It's nothing spectacular, but worth a visit if you're in the area.

We were travelling by boat and stayed in the marina. Muros is beautifully located on the north side of the Ria de Muros e Noia. Walk out of the marina and you're in the center of the village. There is small beach. The avenue along the bay is lined with bars and restaurants. If you climb a little, you pass the historic church. And if you climb a little bit further, you have gorgeous views over the Ria.

We did not stay in Muros but arrived a few times and walked around. Very nice little town. Around there are several beautiful footpaths along both beaches and hills. Unfortunately, one of the days of our walks a very unpleasant and dangerous incident happened to us. When we left Louro (located near Muros) and walked along the road to the lake from the houses located on the outskirts of town and 50 meters from the road two fighting dangerous dogs rushed at me. My husband miraculously managed to drive them away and we ran across the road. We experienced such stress! If I knew Spanish, I would write a statement to the police. The situation was very dangerous. Upon returning home, I wrote to the Muros travel agency to warn them. I reproached myself for not doing this right away, because someone else could have suffered, but they didn’t even answer. So be careful!
