We were staying nearby and headed to the park with our dog.
It is well laid out, relatively flat with good pathways.
There is fishing, sailing model boats, an abundance of birds or simply a nice stroll, with family or pets.
There is a lovely weir, river and lakes to walk round, the walk carries on into parkland if you want to venture further.
The parking is pay and display, it gets very busy at the weekend and on sunny days.
There is onsite toilets and a lovey cafe with indoor and outdoor seating.

This park covers quite a large area and is very popular with dog walkers and a few horse riders.
In the summer months, the river is great for cooling your dog down.
If you have limited mobility or pushchairs, the path is reasonable, but can be very muddy on rainy days.
Parking is very limited especially on hot summer days and when the football fields are in use. The car park is full also at school pick up time as parents use this car park for the local primary school in Marple bridge.
There are no refeshments available here or toilets.

Lovely open spaces and children's play area. Unfortunately the roads, signage and general husbandry such as areas of grass cutting lets the Park down. Lots of dog walking businesses use it which is disconcerting from a public health perspective. Also the speed at which some cars drive in out is alarming when you consider the amount of pedestrians of all ages. Such a shame when you consider Memorial Park which is less than a mile away is being so heavily invested in. Why is there such a noticeable difference between the investment and care? Post code lottery? Or just favouritism?

Marple is full of parks and green spaces, but this one links the river Goyt and the canal and is great for running and children. Very easy to get to. Five mins from Marple Station or buses 383/4 from Stockport (every 15 mins).

Lovely park, river running through can get fast running in winter so beware of dogs swimming and being swept away.
Nice walk along the canal side.

I run parkruns on a Saturday morning and Brabyns Park is the home of Marple parkrun. 2 laps round the grassy and trail route (with a tiny bit of gravel path). It’s a lovely natural area, not a Victorian manicured park... running alongside a river at some points.... lovely, I will return for the natural ‘vibe’.

Very popular place with dog walkers because it is so open. Small car parking area that can fill up quickly. Small children's play ground (nearby Memorial Park more suitable and larger play area for children).

Although not that big Brabyns Park is a good place to stroll and relax. plenty of open space with some woodland and a lovely riverbank walk. great on a warm, sunny day or in fact anytime if you like open space but that's about all.
