Our family of 6 had 3 complete beginners and 3 with just one weeks skiing experience behind them, so we booked JP for the 6 mornings of our stay for the whole family and were really glad we did. He's a great teacher with easy to understand instruction and had great patience with the older, more nervous beginners!
We were able to vary the mix of the instruction, but the majority did focus on the 3 beginners and we were thrilled with the progress over the week. We loved being shown around the area by JP and made full use of his recommendations of places to eat! The teen's all reckon he's the coolest guy around!

Our children (13 and 9) had a week's lessons with JP and absolutely loved it. They were buzzing at the end of every lesson and really enjoyed every minute. They were absolute beginners at the start of the week and made amazing progress by the end of the last lesson - the kind of progress it took us weeks of ski school to make!
The kids said: "he took us for great hot chocolate, he was very patient and told us interesting things about the mountains. He took us on a lot of exciting runs".
Thanks for a great week JP - we'll be back as soon as we can.

JP is just brilliant. We were two skiers at different abilities and he managed to focus on both of us helping us improve immensely. We had initially booked 5 days of classes but extended it for another 4 days on Day 3!
Aside from the skiing, he definitely makes the lift rides very entertaining! Highly recommend!

Fantastic. JP is the first off piste guide to give me really good technical skiing advice - which has really improved my skiing. I have taken guides for 25 years or so and I only wish I’d found JP sooner. He also found great snow in challenging conditions. Thoroughly recommend to anyone of any ability.

Complete beginner
3 hours with JP gave me the ability to confidently ski under control whilst enjoying the flow of the turns.
My only previous experience was 2 years ago when I went skiing for my first time in Andorra, with no instruction, resulting in a badly damaged knee.
JP's ability to transfer his knowledge in a way I can understand made it very easy to progress.
Really nice guy too. 10/10 would recommend. Had a lot of fun.
Also Arc 2000 Is a great place to learn by e looks of it. Nice and wide runs

You can't go wrong with AIM.
JP i an amazing instructor, managed to juggle between everyone, making sure everybody is happy and content.
The children loved him and managed to ski in no time.
The customer service is at its best, Ingrid took care of the reservation process, and helped us with whatever we needed, wether advice or coordinating the lessons.
I recommend using Aim for ski or snowboard lessons with all my heart!

This is the third consecutive year I have had instruction with JP and AIM Snowsports. Another great experience with some wonderful skiing. His teaching approach is just right - done with humour and in a relaxed fashion. He also gave some additional tuition to my teenage daughter and helped with video for her GCSE PE! I would whole heartedly recommend him as an instructor.

Had a great afternoon with JP giving us top tips to help us practice and improve our skiing during the week. We were 3 sisters with 3 very different characters. JP adjusted to us very quickly, not an easy task! Concepts: Oranges and Lemons, Sound All around, 12 O’Clock will stick with us for a while. JP gave us loads of tips for different ski scenarios as well. We felt we improved during our week after our lesson. Will definitely book again.

JP takes the time to understand what you want to achieve from the lesson and then adds his own observations and expertise to suggest what is needed to make you a more competent and confident skier.
He is patient, highly skilled and very personable. I have learnt so much from him and am looking forward to putting my new skills into practice. The lesson was hard work, but fun! I can’t recommend him highly enough.

JP spent a week teaching my 10 year old daughter to ski, as a complete beginner. JP was brilliant. Kind, patient, and fun. The progress she made in a week was way beyond our expectations. Will only aim to ski in resorts from now on where JP can guide! No hesitation to recommend to anyone at all.

Like to go of piste with a guide. Group 7 persons. Week 17/3 - 24/3. Just one day. If snow conditions are ok?

At what age do children have to be to go to ski school. We are taking 4 year old twins and my daughter thought she read somewhere that they have to be 5 years old.

Hi Carol,
It depends on the ski school really. Big ski schools like the ESF and Evolution 2 have their own private teaching areas for small children, known as a jardin enfants. This is the ideal controlled environment for children that age. A better alternative is an indoor ski centre in the UK such as Hemel Snowcentre where they will be taught by a native English speaker which will hopefully add to their enjoyment.
We are a small number of Independant instructors that offer private lessons. There is no age restriction but it is difficult to teach more than one small child on a public slope.
Kind regards
John-Paul McCarthy
