We've always seen pictures of the snow monkeys sitting in a steaming bath, and that is what you are going to get. They really are quite crazy characters and watching them scoot around in the hot springs can be quite hilarious. There are loads of them about and they could not be bothered with the tourists at all, walking right... More

Amazing to see the monkeys and little ones together in hot spas, Their wasn't much snow on the ground but towards early evening visitors walking on paths and temperature made snow freeze and path was like an ice skate, and a few visitors slipped at couple of places but park workers soon made the paths safe well done

This is my second visit to this park in 3 years. Always fun to see the highly active snow monkeys playing and running around. Even more entertaining to see them relaxing in their own private hot spring! The hike is only 1.6 kilometers, a little muddy if you go in the spring.

Let's be honest, without the monkeys, the background is a couple of houses next to two slopes of a short hill. The background is really tepid and unnatural. The walk to this dull place is quite a walk and can be slippery Now you add the monkeys who are busy picking the droppings of others that is strewn along the... More

This was my second visit to the Snow Monkey Park. In 2007 we tracked there alone with only the lonely planet to guide us. We enjoyed the park almost to ourselves - it was an incredible experience and one I was excited to take my now husband on. I know much can change in that kind of time period -... More

have been here twice, once in spring (2016) and came back in January 2017 to see them in the snow! Love the park, the walk, the cafes, the whole experience is world class!!

It was nice walk through snowy forest to the monkey park. Monkeys were cute and we enjoyed it. The park is not very well made. The is thrash (old parts of pipeline) lying around and it doesn't look like monkeys natural place to live. It was a nice visit but I wouldn't come again. One trip is enough.

I was in two minds about visiting here given the monkeys are coaxed down with food in order to provide entertainment for tourists. However, as it turned out the monkeys did not seem remotely bothered by either the tourists or the cameras and seemed quite happy so I was glad I went. The walk up there is very easy if... More

I'm so happy I came here and if any of my friends visit Japan, I tell them to go here. One of my favourite memories of 2016. I was also lucky enough to have a dip in the nearby onsen where a couple of monkeys decided to join us. The local area also has the cutest souvenirs and highly recommend... More

We have been to the snow monkey park a number of times and never tire of it. It is fascinating to watch the monkeys interact with each other, the young ones are lovely and often playing. We went in early March, and have also been in January a few years ago. There is a comfortable 20-30 minute walk into the... More
