About
The Tumbler Ridge Museum is home to the Dinosaur Discovery Gallery and the Peace Region Paleontology Research Centre. The central display features a full-scale re-creation of a 100 million-year-old dinosaur track environment, with additional displays on dinosaur and other vertebrate tracks and traces, which make up the vast majority of the terrestrial vertebrate record of western Canada. The interactive theatre provides several presentation options for visitors to view and learn about the pre-history of the Peace Region of British Columbia. During the summer the Gallery offers Trackway Tours, Day Camps for kids ages 7 – 13, and Drop in programs for kids and families of all ages. The Tumbler Ridge Human History Gallery is housed in the Community Centre with free access during regular Centre hours.

Good information on dinsoaur discoveries in area
Aug 2019
Enjoyable local museum giving background on history of dinosaur finds in Tumbler Ridge area. Full size models of local dinosaur fossils and footprints show richness of finds in the area - shows the need for more funding to fully explore the region and all its riches.

Important visit
Jul 2019 • Couples
Second visit to the gallery. it contains an important history of life in this part of the world at a special time during the evolution of the North American continent. There is a mix of real and replica fossils and dinosaur tracks in the exhibit, and each is accompanied by an explanation. We spent about an hour reading and looking carefully at the exhibit items. The gift store contains books, plastic dinosaur models relevant to this area (I bought 3 to use in public talks), and other items. Also took the guided tours of the Flatbed Creek trackway and the "lantern tour" of the dinosaur tracks. Both were good and I saw much more at Flatbed Creek than I had seen previously, on my own. This is a very small museum but it does a great job of highlighted local discoveries!
I took my grade one/two class and a craft was done after a tour and scavenger hunt.

Great, small local museum
Jun 2019 • Couples
We drove up to this museum, on the recommendation of family. It is small, but does a good job of displaying and explaining the finds made locally. It was also a beautiful drive to get there,

This museum showcases the findings in the area very well, as well as providing some fun insight into other findings in western Canada. I would definitely recommend it!

Full of untapped potential
Aug 2018 • Couples
Place is very small but well taken care of. People here love what they do but their last grant expires in September 2018 so there is no way to know if it will reopen next season. There seems to be internal fighting between a few powerful groups in town and the Museum is caught in the middle. They would rather see it close than working with the current museum staff. Sad state of affairs when you deal with small town politics and narrow minds. If you do the guided hike, the price of visiting the museum is included so may as well do that.

Follow up to Dinosaur tracks
Aug 2018 • Business
Had the pleasure of visiting the museum with a few people that initially discovered the dinosaur tracks on flatbed creek.
The museum is easily accessible and very well laid out. Displays are informative. Check out the videos on Daniel Helm on your visit.
