Really fascinating house which had boards throughout helping you understand the history of the house. Little gift shop which also sold cold drinks and ice creams (it was a very hot day) which was welcome.

Lovely old building in a beautiful village. When we visited it was quiet due to it being the hottest day of the year so far. Lots of history to learn about, in very pleasant surroundings. Definitely worth a visit

Well worth a visit. The house is in a beautiful village setting and steeped in history which has been bought to life by sympathetic furnishings and artifacts.

Picturesque little village in Rutland which includes this small historic house. A couple of the rooms have been kitted out as they would have been when the bedesmen lived here, otherwise the rooms are bare and have good information boards to explain both the history...More

We weren't expecting it to be as interesting as it was! Beautiful building with an interesting past. Definitely worth visiting, but not good for people unsteady on their feet due to the stairs and flooring, and maybe not too good for children, but the garden...More

It is very difficult to rate this property as it is unique in my experience and yet lacks something to be able to rate it more highly. There are many rooms and floors to explore but some are mere empty cells which hold the interest...More

An English Heritage site - part of a former Bishop`s Palace, and more recently an Alms House (until about 1930).
