Snowed everyday. Almost no western tourist, equals powder runs ALL DAY. Great lift system. Go before more people find out about this place

The Powder at Rusutsu is incredible, the terrain isn't too steep but some of the powder bowls that you can find are just incredible.

Great snow condition and plenty of trails to discover. Ski fields spread over 3 mountains but most of the exciting trails are on Mount Isola and East Mountain which can only be accessed by gondola but don't get put off by this. Lines are short and quick! Plenty of lifts to get you around the mountain. Ski trails are a... More

went there in mid-Mar with a team of 8 Ski/S-board friends. There were some good runs including moguls in the Mt Isola side but due to warmer than normal temps, not much good pow left unless you went inside the trees.

A little late in the season to get the best from this resort, but still very skiable. The layout of this resort was a little confusing as we driving there for the day from Hirafu. It is situated on both sides of the main road with a free gondola connecting the west and east sides, rough riding lifts that look a bit ancient,... Visited in late March and very much spring conditions by then, but still better quality of snow than the Niseko resorts we skied a week earlier. As day trippers only, we had a bit of trouble actually understanding how to get actually get onto the Rusutsu ski fields and buy tickets, but thankfully as always in Japan, the local skiers... More

Rusutsu Ski Resort was a pleasant surprise! We were staying in Hirafu at Niseko and I had never heard of Rusutsu until our trip this year. Friends took me skiing there with a guide and I had no expectations. We skied powder and trees all day, covering a lot of vertical. Compared to Niseko ski resort, Rusutso resort was much... More

Small resort, mostly boring runs, suitable for families and mixed ability groups - but amazing extensive gladed off-piste runs everywhere. Most skiers stay on the runs, so the chance of virgin snow is pretty good. The off-piste is mostly not too steep, so the perfect way to practice and improve. Fresh snow daily. The west side of the valley is... More

We had a day trip from Niseko to here, about6900 yen with bus and day ticket and it was absolutely worth it. It is big, uncrowned and very varied and there is much more for intermediates or people who like cruising on wider slopes. The cafes are so busy at 12 to 12 30 so go early or late. The... More
