Had a tour in February. Very very nice experience! Was there some years ago as well and then it felt like a search for the leopard instead of enjoying all the little creatures.. this guide really knows a lot about everything that’s going on in the park. Great fun and good food as well. I would recommend the full day tour. Hope I’ll go back soon! Then we’ll definitely contact you again!! Max, Lara and Marty

Guide, car and passion were excellent. Yala is freakishly popular compared to other safaris in the country, Because of the leopard which we saw at 6.15am. Gihan shared the picture he took on the day with us which was great. Great bloke with good morals. 1 tip bring binoculars, or maybe Gihan can help with some :) Managed to skip the queue as well which was amazing. He showed me some great videos as well of park action.

We did a morning Safari and overnight stay with Tharindu on a recommendation. Firstly, the welcoming by his wife and children at the bungalow was incredibly warm, lovely and friendly. The bungalow has amazing views on neighbouring rice fields, is really clean and we had the best shower in our entire trip in Sri Lanka. It is immediately clear that Tharindu and his wife are making an extra effort to make you feel at home and make your experience more special. That continued during the safari. Tharindu has a big heart for wildlife and preserving it. The same goes for the driver who guided us through the Yala park. They make sure that the experience for the guests is unique. It was lovely to see their enthousiasm, joy and professionalism in showing us the park and the wildlife. Halfway through the safari the driver spotted a young leopard which we would have never spotted. An amazing and once in a lifetime experience. We would definitely recommend you to do the safari with Tharindu in Yala park. It made our experience definitely the best we could ever wish for.

We stayed here for 2 nights including a full day safari with Gihan. His english is amazing and he was able to tell us so much about the wildlife in the park. We saw a huge variety of birds, lizards, crocodiles, a mongoose, a hare, elephants and 2 leopards (the holy grail). He and his driver were a great combination as well. You can tell they have a lot of experience and passion. The accommodation was great. The aircon was powerful and the shower had amazing pressure. The breakfast was also delicious. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance, and a few more a short tuk tuk drive away. Gihan also drove us to Tangalle (our next destination) for a very reasonable price <3 Would highly recommend.

You should choose Gihan as your Safari guide. We wanted to enjoy Yala without getting caught up in the big crowds. 95% of the time we felt like we had the park to ourselves because Gihan kept us away from the crowds and he still helped us to see 3 leopards. Our safari day with Gihan was one of our best days in Sri Lanka. We also really enjoyed staying at the accomodation, comfortable air conditioned rooms which a beautiful view of rice paddies out the front. I've already recommended Gihan to everyone I've met in Sri Lanka who's heading towards Yala.
