Yala (Ruhunu) National Park is one of the oldest wild life reservations in Sri Lanka. It is the second largest national park in our island. It belongs to two main distrcits in Sri Lanka , Hambantota and Monaragala.

Days Safari is my go to! I don’t think I will use any other service other than Daya!! The drivers are incredibly knowledgeable, insanely skillful yet very friendly and professional, especially Sam. What a guy and what an experience. My friend mentioned that he had never seen a leopard at Yala and Sam promised that he will get us a sighting that day. And without fail he delivered!! I recommend anyone traveling for a safari to use Daya Safari Jeep Service and you’ll honesty will never be disappointed. I don’t see myself going with anyone else from now on.

Had an amazing experience in the wild with Samitha from Daya Safari. Even with the high number of vehicles in the park, Samitha's attempt to get you a spot with the best of the animal is impeccable. His will to show you more animals during the limited time period is shown as a distinctive quality of Samitha. Would recommend Daya Safari to anyone any day for the best safari experience in Yala national parks.

It was an absolutely amazing trip this time to Yala, with Daya Safari team. They have always been amazing, the crew of Samitha, Thanura and Yasanka. They are the best in town at what they are doing and it is very difficult to put in to words to explain how good they are. They always give their 200% to satisfy their customer and they will always make sure your each trip to Yala to be memorable.
Below I have attached few of the amazing captures we had during the November trip to Yala with Daya Safari team and you would see why I am praising these guys this much. It is not just about spotting the animals (especially Leopards) but also following the leopard on its trails left behind. I would say they are the best leopard trailers in Yala. Also as you can see, if you are a photographer they will always make sure to give you the best shot with the best angles. Believe me, this is not the easiest thing to do when having few photographers in the safari jeep and the animals moving here and there, but they can.
So, if you are ever planning to visit Yala or if you are a leopard lover, I seriously recommend to get the service of these guys, they will never ever disappoint you.

It was another day, another game drive at Yala. Also another one with "Sam" from Daya Safari. The tour was amazing as always. We were lucky to see three leopards along with elephants, wild boars and crocs etc. Highly recommend this company if you are a Wildlife Photographer who's eagerly scoping your lens for leopards and bears. And if you're a wildlife enthusiast who's appreciating the nature there's no company better than this.
FYI, I think "Sam" aka "Samitha" is one of the best driver/tracker whom I've ever met.

We did four safaris in total (two at Yala, two at Bundala) with Nissanka as our guide. He was very professional and knowledgeable, and unlike many other safari drivers didn't drive too fast or irresponsibly in order to reach sites quickly (which is particularly a problem in Yala).
As bird watchers, we were especially interested in stopping often in Bundala to view and photograph the myriad of local and wintering species. Nissanka was very patient and obliging with this. We even found a very rare vagrant Whinchat (Saxicola rubetra) which seems to be only the second record of this species in the whole of Sri Lanka.
In Yala, we had a great leopard sighting despite the rainy weather.
All in all, a great experience and I would totally recommend Nissanka as a guide and Daya Safari in general!

We booked 3 trips with Daya safari - Udawalawe (morning),Yala (whole day) and Bundala (morning). The experience was very enjoyable in every drive. Kavindu was our driver for all 3 trips. We felt very safe with his driving and he has keen eyes in wildlife spotting. If we needed to make a stop for photos, Kavindu was more than happy to do so. He also provided fruits and soft drinks in mid morning as well as lunch in Yala.
During safaris, we had seen 5 leopards including 2 cubs, 5 different types of eagles and close encounter with many elephants, one male with long tasks, plus large varieties of wetland birds and many wildlife. This has exceeded our expectation.
For morning safari drives, do bring extra clothing as weather was quite cool before sunrise. With the stunning scenery in the National Parks, there were plenty of photo opportunities.
Overall, we highly recommend Daya Safari and a big thank you to Kavindu!

Thanura is the best tracker there is in Yala, he was absolutely great at navigating and making us feel as if we were part of an awesome experience. Thanks to him we saw a gorgeous female leopard named strawberry! He even went to the extent of calling the other jeeps so they could catch a glimpse. He was super emotionally intelligent and went above and beyond to make us feel a part of the experience.
Daya safari is the way to go in Yala!!!

To visit the Yala I highly recommend Daya Safary with Omesh. Omesh is the best guide, has a guide’s license, a lot of experience and contacts (keys when a leopard appears) and is always located in the best places to see the animals. To see the three main animals (leopard, lazy bear and elephant) it is best to make a full day, to have more chances. In our experience, Omesh was very punctual, we entered the park third, and during the day we could see 2 leopards, 1 bear and several elephants, in addition to all the other animals.

One of my friend recommend to go with Daya Safari as he was well knowing wildlife photographer in Sri Lanka. Samitha who is the guide of our tour picked early from the hotel and we got fortunate to enter in to the park with the first set of Safari jeeps
We were lucky to saw one tusker and two leopards and my children were enjoyed well in that day. I recommend Samitha from Daya Safari to facilitate your safaris in Yala National Park Sri Lanka

If you want to experience authentic Yala wild life with a team that will make sure your time inside the jungle is comfortable and memorable then Daya Safari is for you. We have now done about 5 safari sessions with them and every session kept getting better and better. The entire team posses an incredible knowledge and route experience inside the jungle and will do their best to show you some of Yala's best. We saw great sightings of leopards and bears and elephants! Highly recommend. Will see you guys again soon!
