    Good People and Good Wines!
Sofia was an amazing host. She gave us generous tastings and provided us with many tips for the remainder of our trip to Mendoza and elsewhere in Argentina. Frederico, the owner, also met with us and was most gracious. When he learned we were unable to get into Pulenta Estate, he made an effort to try to make us a reservation. We enjoyed our entire experience at this small, family run, bodega. Sofia, Frederico and the wines were all very enjoyable. I would highly recommend a visit to Familia Cassone.

Terrific Hospitality and Quality Affordable Wines!
This was our second trip to visit Familia Cassone. Again, they could not have been more accommodating. Sofia, our hostess and guide, was spectacular. She knew we had visited last year so she wanted to give us a different experience from their typical tour of the winery, so she gave us the opportunity to taste directly from the tanks of their recently harvested grapes. It was most interesting to taste various grapes (wine) at different stages of their development. After tank tasting, we visited their tasting room where we sampled their finished wines and again met the winemaker and owner, Federico. He warmly welcomed us back and we had a wonderful time conversing with him. Like last year, we thoroughly enjoyed our entire experience at this small, family run, bodega. Sofia, Federico and the affordable wines were all very enjoyable. I would highly recommend a visit to Familia Cassone.

Beautiful vineyard. Very informative tasting. Met the wine maker Frederico Cassone. Wines were very good as was the olive oil. They have a new wine that has a eucalyptus aroma as they use eucalyptus leaves in the soil. Do not miss this boutique winery for its beauty, friendly knowledgeable staff and great wines.

I've been there with my husband and we just loved it. It's a small winery that makes quality wines (and export most of it). The visit starts at the vineyard were you can actually taste the grape from the vine! It's a place were you can really experience the process of winemaking and taste the wine even before it is bottled! Don't expect to find a grand structure, but it offers a real winery experience.

We had a fantastic wine tasting here, in addition we had the opportunity to walk the grounds of the estate and see the vines and olive trees. We even met the proprietor and he was such a gentleman. The wines we tried were very delicious and of top-quality. We also very much appreciated trying the olive oil that was made from the olives in the vineyard! A must-go if you make it to Mendoza!!!

We had a wonderful time here with Sabrina and owner/winemaker Frederico Cassone. Our tour and subsequent tastings were very informative and great fun.

That said, the real test came a few nights later at La Barra, a remarkable steakhouse on Belgrano in Mendoza. We showed up with a bottle of Obra Prima, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. A big wine, it was the perfect companion to a perfectly-grilled, medium rare New York strip--"bife de chorizo" as it's known in Argentina. Wow, wow, WOW!

Our thanks to Javier at The Malbec Effect for arranging for our visit.

Bodega Familia Cassone was the best vineyard I visited on a winery tour through Ampora Wine Tours. Federico Cassone welcomed us to this family vineyard which is set in a stunning location. He's a very pleasant, energetic man, passionate about his family's wines and I soon knew why.
It's a small, boutique winery that makes excellent wines - what a start to the day! We tried about 4 wines including their Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. All very classy and good. I absolutely loved the first two in particular. You can buy them from Berry Brothers and Rudd and Wines Direct in the UK at good price points for the quality. Some of the wines are named after his Mother, Florencia.
Federico gave us a great explanation of vines, the production process and answered all questions he was asked.
The winery has clean toilet facilities.

Federico was an amazing host, despite the weather - which he had plenty of jokes about. Highly recommended to see this beautiful estate and taste the wonderful wines produced here. Nowhere else did we have a tour provided by the owner, which gave a sense of family and real commitment and passion to the estate. We would love to find this wine in Belgium, and hope to return again to Cassone!
