A non review review- my visit to Lagarde was cancelled. My trip to Mendoza, which was focused around this bodega became frustrating as we were bumped out of our reservation unexpectedly one day before our lunch.

I do not think we will travel there again as we live in the USA. If this has happened to anyone else with this bodega lagarde, you will understand our rage, as we tried multiple times to call and Whatssap to no response and complete ignorance.

As part of an Argentinian tour we visited a number of vineyards for tours and tastings.Bodega Lagarde was fantastic!!
We had the lunch with paired wines and everything was perfect. Wonderful table under large shady tree with delicious food and fantastic wines.
Particularly want to praise our waitress Camilla and our Sommelier Eugenia. They served us really well and were charming and good natured and spent lots of time with us. A must visit

Just finishing week visiting Mendoza/Uco Valley. Have already posted on this bodega but this was by far the best visit/ tasting/ lunch we had all week. The attention to detail was superb, the staff knowledgable and helpful. Outstanding wine and food with great chef and sommelier. This. Gould not be missed!

I just came back from a week in Mendoza and what a trip! My wife and I adored Lagarde. Not just because the wine was outstanding and the food was truly but because it felt authentic.

Lagarde was our first visit and I had so many expectations for these vineyard visits after all of the blogs, books and emails with recs I had received from friends. I have to say upon first arrival I wasn't really impressed but then as we were met by the lovely Carolina impressions began to change. The place was immaculate. They have the oldest wine in Argentina. The top wines were excellent. It's owned by a local family that claims they will never sell it.

My favorite part was that the vineyard was owned by another family in past. They sold it to the current family in 1960s for 1 peso as the past owner had no heirs and he choose the friend who he believed truly appreciated the wine cultivation the most. I mean those type of stories don't exist elsewhere.

I guess afterwards when we went to Mendel, Archaval Ferrer, Salentein, Cavos and Catena, none seemed to have that old world feel like Lagarde. Maybe I'm a romantic about not wanting wine to be a big business as many of the others are (with some great wines as well) but Lagarde stood out as the most authentic of the vineyards we visited. Looking forward to going back.

We loved Bodega Lagarde. Going during off-season, we practically had the entire bodega to ourselves, which was a nice surprise. The setting is lovely and tucked away in the town of Lujan de Cuyo, offering a wonderful oasis from the streetscape nearby. Starting off with the decadent 5 course, wine-paired lunch, it was a fabulous introduction to the variety of wines offered by the bodega and their top-notch food. The entire meal was made on the grill in the courtyard by the chef, who we heard was new at the time and he did nothing but impress! If the weather was nicer, we could have chosen to sit outdoors and watch the action first-hand in the courtyard. But, we found the dining room to very charming and quaint with black and white photographs of the grape harvest. Each plate was delicious, unique and beautifully presented. Our most memorable was the entree, consisting of a filet medallion, malbec reduction sauce, roasted vegetables and garnished with a perfect amount of salt crystals. It was the best steak we had during our visit to Argentina (and my fiance's family is actually from Argentina, so we'd like to think it says a lot!). The service was top-notch and extremely friendly. Coupled with the great food, wonderful wines, it was a very good value for the amount paid. Led on a nice tour through the bodega after lunch, Carolina was exceptionally knowledgeable and accommodating to our questions and palates. Having had such a memorable experience and truly enjoying their wines, we have ultimately decided to use their line of wines at our wedding in the States this upcoming October. We hope to return to Bodega Lagarde in the near future and definitely recommend not only their wines to our friends visiting (and in the States), but also making sure they venture out there during their trip to Mendoza. Thank you Lagarde for creating such a memorable experience for us!!! Hasta Pronto!

We visited as part of a bike tour. The tour itself of one of the main halls was fine (and nicely, in English). When we moved over to the wine tasting area we were struck by its beauty - inside, but especially outside underneath leafy trees, it felt like the exactly right spot to sit down for a nice lunch with some good wines. We opted for the 3 course lunch, each course with a different wine. We liked the food just fine, but at 670 Argentine pesos it was somewhat steep. And at that price it was just not enough to earn the fifth star - not compared to Carmelo Patti, for instance, whose winery we could freely admire and who offered us free tastings.

I've been to many wineries in the states and some in Australia. This was one of my favorite experiences. First the tour was first rate. This is a winery and there is a significant Vineyard colocated, which to me makes the tour more complete. The effort has been made to keep much of the antique equipment in good condition. The guide was Marie who is a French National living in Argentina, her vast knowledge of wine, in addition to the French accent, made the tour and wine explanation and presentation exquisite. The wines themselves were wonderful. I enjoyed the premier Henry which was a wonderful experience. The lunch was a top highlight of the trip. Each course was delicious and the setting well thought out and classy. I was most impressed with the steak, the best I've had in a wine tasting. My only regret is that in my haste to catch a flight I failed to leave gratuity. Give this spot a try, you won't regret it.

Bodega Lagarde beautiful vineyard boasts Argentina's oldest malbec vines and embodies what everyone perceives romantically as a traditional family winery born of love for the grape and its cultivation. Tasting their wonderful wines with owners and staff is about as close as most of us will ever get to a genuine al fresco Sunday family lunch in wine country.

We were there as part of a trade delegation from Cambria County, Pennsylvania, looking to forge joint ventures between Argentina wine producers and Pennsylvania bottlers and distributors. We visited many places, tasted many wines, but Bodega Lagarder's owners and team stand out as the finest hosts of a truly remarkable visit.

Great people, great wines, great attitude...don't miss Lagarde!

I and two friends went to Lagarde Bodega in Mendoza. We had an English speaking tour guide named Veronica. She was excellent!! Veronica was extremely knowledgeable about wines, winemaking and the history of the region. We learned more from her in an hour than I'd learned in my visits to Conche Y Toro, or any of the wineries in California. I highly recommend this winery for its excellent wines. If you miss this winery, then you've missed one of the hidden gems.
