I've been travelling to this place since I was a kid for around 40 years. I went last weekend and I was surprised how well it is maintained compared to other magical towns in Mexico. It keeps this peaceful and picturesque atmosphere without being boring...More

The square is quite large amd there are lots of things to see and do. It has nice gardens and a fountain, a kiosk, a large church and corridors with large arches in three of its sides where many cafes, rsraurants, art galleries and hotels...More

People we were visiting in Tula de Allende brought us here on our way to San Miguel de A. The whole road we drove in on was decked out in bright paper "flags" strung between the tops of the buildings on both sides. Festive indeed....More

The center of every Mexican town is the Zocalo or main plaza, often uninspiring. This is a very classy town and this one is one of my top ten having visited hundreds of communities over the years. Surrounded with boutiques, art and fine hotels and...More

Nice square with restaurants and shops. Church bells dominate on the hour. At sunset hundreds of grackle birds do a murmuration and roost in the trees in the square.

We never walked to town without passing by and stopping for some sight or event. From the church to the parade we saw to the marching band to the demonstration to the milkshakes!

There is always something going on in this plaza. It is like a beehive of activity. In the week we were there, there was a Singing Competition, a play, a band, a guy dressed up as a skeleton monk, along with vendors of all kinds.

Very interesting, oldest plaza in the city. Quaint, charming, quiet in an older part of town. Beautiful very old church on this plaza. We stayed in a chalet a few blocks away.
