One of the few places in our place where someone can taste and feel the traditional way of working and living in Crete. Koronekes Olive oil Factory is a family business where everything is made with care and love.

For sure worth tasting this extraordinary oil but also meeting the lovely people and having the beautiful tour!

Such an inspirational and instructive visit. Giorgio and Kiara are passionate about their work and take great pride in everything they do, from producing excellent olive oil to teaching the visitors how to best differentiate the qualities of the different olive oils you may find in the market. We learned so much during our visit!! Thank you.
Koronekes’ olive trees are hundreds of years old and still in full production. Their processing facilites are impecable and their olive oil is superior. I work with farmers in Spain and was truly impressed by Koronekes. It is more than an organic farm, it is a true a Regenerative Farm. Their soils are well cared for and protected with green cover, which is important to capture carbon and mitigate climate change. They take great care of their biodiversity, offering refuge for varios wild birds and other animals. Giorgio recovers any injured animal found in the vicinity and returns it back to nature.
Besides oil degustation, they also offer cooking classes and do activities with families, providing a great service not only to visitors, but also to their local community.
Koronekes is the kind of family business we should all be supporting. I am sure you will not regret visiting them.

This is a place worth a detour during your trip in Crete. During couple of hours we enjoyed the explanations of Kiara about their extraction method, different quality of the oils, etc. The visit to the production line was followed by a really interesting tasting of several olive oil products. Kiara is really passionate about her family business and was willing to answer all our questions. We highly recommend it, as we think this was one of the highlights of our time in Crete.

Booked this tour through email with Kiara. Well worth it! Kiara is very informative and knows a lot about Olive Oil and its composition. Would highly recommend anyone interested in olive oil and staying in Heraklion to check this place out and support what they are doing here. Family run olive farm. Olive oil is amazing, had to bring some home with us, didn’t want to leave Greece without it. Go and support this family run business!!!

Lovely, welcoming, interesting and informative experience in a stunning location. Both the tour and tasting sessions were great (English and french speaking)tours can be booked). No hard sell, but I had no hesitation in wanting to purchase some oil. We explored the grounds a little and encountered the very friendly staff in the middle of harvesting. We had a bit of a trip from our village and arranged a taxi. I would recommend perhaps combining your visit to Knossos Palace with this trip, as the sites are relatively close. Enjoy!

We will never look at or taste olive oils in the same way as before or buy it in a plastic or transparent glass bottle! You really feel their passion for producing the highest quality of oils with environmental friendly, sustainable ways, simply beautiful! Wish we had come here first to learn about olive oils and tasted them; we would never have bought other olive oils.

This was one of the highlights of our family's trip to Greece! Kiara was incredibly kind and informative. We learned so much about how olives are grown, harvested, and then how they make the olive oil. It was so interesting to learn about the different processes (extracted vs pressed). We were able to try many different varieties of oil and a vinegar. Kiara even taught us about the chemistry and what to look for when you buy olive oil (re: to the acidity, peroxide value, etc). As people who are interested in sustainability, it was amazing hearing about all of the steps they have taken to be as sustainable as possible. Kiara answered our heaps and heaps of questions and was such a delight. The building and property are beautiful. Definitely recommend having a car to get there. Schedule your tour in advance. We did the Palace of Knossos in the morning and then went there for our tour. Cannot recommend this enough!

We were fortunate to spend over half a day with the George Koronekes Olive Oil Mill on Crete. His wife, parents and two lovely boys were the hosts with the most. His mother taught us how to make stuffed tomatoes Greek style. We had an olive oil tasting and were schooled on how the olive oil was made. Their place us truly off the beaten path, but worth the distance and time. Find a good beach, relax and enjoy, but do take a trip to enjoy George and his beautiful wife, whose English was almost perfect. (She was reared in France and comes from a Columbian-American-French-Greek family...she knows her languages.)

This is a small olive farm which presses and bottles it’s own fantastic olive oil. It is a wonderful small production and tour. Call ahead as they only take small groups.
