This is a brilliant day out for toddlers. There was so many animals to see and the petting area with the rabbits and guinea pigs was just fabulous for my daughter. The play park was also a really good size and she had endless fun there. I would say it was much better than Edinburgh zoo. Great value for money.

Not being the biggest fan of zoos I was a little sceptical when my partner suggested we take a trip out to five sisters with our 2 year old. My fears were put to rest soon after arriving as this place is an excellent day out for everyone and you get a real sense of community and caring for every... More

Thank you so much for your lovely comments - we are delighted that you decided to visit and when you did, were impressed by the Zoo and the animals that we care for. The name "Five Sisters" comes from the 5 large hills behind West Calder (these can be seen from the Zoo) they are left over from the shale... More

I am writing this review following our visit on Sunday 12th March 2017. I wrote an email to the zoo but have not yet had a reply. We came for a birthday day out and bought two adult tickets and a child ticket (plus we had a four month old with us). Total ticket price was £33.85. We hoped to... More

With reference to your complaint received by email on the 15th March, please note that we have tried on several occasions to reply to you by email, but the messages keep bouncing back - we have even tried sending them from different Zoo email addresses, but with no luck. As you didn't provide either a phone number or postal address... More

Had a fantastic day at the zoo. Lots of work done over the last 12 months to enhance the visit. Pity the weather wasn't better. But hey it's Scotland

We had such an amazing time here! There was tones of animals to see and the walk around was just superb. There is a Park for the children to play in and a little cafe to have a coffee/lunch, however the cafe is very small and when busy there will be no chance on getting a seat, so best taking... More

Thank you very much for your lovely comments, we are delighted that you all enjoyed your visit and meeting our amazing animals. Apologies about the Cafe, as during peak times and especially the winter, it does get very busy. We are currently constructing a new indoor soft play area which will have a larger restaurant facility and this is due... More

On arrival it was pouring with rain (not a complaint, but owners may need some training in weather control lol ) and yes we got soaked (bring some waterproofs or umbrella) All thoughts of the horrible weather were soon washed away on entry, with a lovely smile and happy welcome from the reception staff... that brings me to the staff,... Thank you so much for all your lovely comments, the owners and staff work hard looking after both the visitors and the animals and therefore it's rewarding for us to know that people enjoy their time at the Zoo. Thanks for braving the rain and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon! More

Small zoo which felt like it had a personal touch. There's not masses to see but what there is is good. We went mid week when it was quiet. I reckon when it's busy it would be unpleasant (for us anyway) and could get crowded really quickly. Not a must-see but if you're looking for a wee change it's well... More

Myself and my partner took a weekday visit in early March. The entrance fee was the cost of a cinema ticket and our visit lasted three times as long. The animals were all enjoying a good healthy feed when we arrived and there were hand feeding sessions as well as talks about the animals which was informative. In particular we... More

Had a lovely day spent at Five Sisters Zoo. Had driven past the sign many a time but never had the opportunity to go in. I am always a bit wary of zoos, as I have visited some which left me uneasy, but this is not the case here. The animals all seemed beautifully kept and appeared relaxed, contented and... More

I really like visiting this zoo, the animals seem so content and well treated. It's such good value for money. The staff there are always happy to help and even talk about the animals. The lions and bear stories are particularly sad but it's amazing to see them in a safe home.
