Pyrgos is a beautiful old fortified village, with ruins of a castle at the very top. Lots of stairs to climb, but the views from Kasteli are great!. Many old churches in the village and one of them houses a SMALL Museum of Icons (with...More

We took the local bus from Fira to Pyrgos. It was very cheap 1.80 euros each way per person and it only took 20 minutes to get there. We were dropped off at the little square where there are a few small restaurants and the...More

Been there 2 times. We repeated, lured by the magnetic beauty of the curved streets and the panorama from the top. From here you have to start your hiking path to Profitis Ilias Monastery.

As the name implies, Pyrgos is that kind of village you are looking for when going to Santorini with the huge difference that there are by far not those crowds you bump into in Oia and Fira. The silence will make you feel like actually...More

Pyrggos is an classical hilltop village complete with narrow winding streets, great views and several churches. The viewpoint from the top is spectacular. Based on our guides recommendation we visited in the afternoon and it was reasonably peaceful. Apparently the mornings can be very busy...More

A great idea without any doubt. Visiting santorini is an amazing experience itself, however visiting this place can mean so much more. We had an amazing guide inside the village

We visited here at part of a TUI island trip. Must see the cultural village museum and take a walk up to the Venetian chick at the top of the cobbled narrow streets. The views from there are spectacular.

No, not at all. Because it is a tourist based destination, everything is open on Sunday. Enjoy!!
