Currently standing at the entrance waiting for my driver because this supposed tour and tasting experience lasted about 30 minutes whereas we thought we would be here at least 60-90 minutes. We were rushed completely through our tasting where she poured one sip glasses and we barely got an impression of the wine. Additionally, did not ask us how we enjoyed each wine or ask us how we were or engage at all in conversation. We were also sold that this was a tour and she did not offer to do one and at the end we had to ask about it and she walked us about 20 feet to the area next to the bathroom and talked for about 5 minutes and then ended the tour. My husband and I are major wine collectors and have been to hundreds of wineries. We were anticipating buying wine and already had an idea of what we wanted going into the tasting. She did not ask if we wanted anything. This is the worst winery we’ve ever been.

Boring experience and a total of 2 glasses of wine for 25 euro per person. We saw the cave in 10 minutes with a young guide who did not seem to know much about (organic) wine. We got 2 breadsticks for 3 persons and tasted 6 wines (adding up to 2 glasses) introduced by another young girl serving all tables and telling basics about the grapes. Time and money would have been better spend at a charming bar in Pyrgos.

This winery particularly disappointed us , being quite expensive minimal wine measures. Somewhat concerned card wasn't taken and no receipt given for cash. Strange how two sweet wines were in the tasting and no reds.

We were super excited to visit Hatzidakis Winery after reading all the positives reviews on Tripadvisor and other sites. Unfortunately we were left disappointed. The wine was standard by Santorini standards, but the service provided by Maria was extremely sub par and left us with a negative impression of the winery. She was rude and curt to begin with and this continued into our tasting, likely ruining the experience for us and not giving us a chance to enjoy our wines. The poor service was further exaggerated after having positive experiences at all the other wineries we visited!

Unless you are dead set on trying their wines would encourage you to visit other wineries first.

Very nice experience, the whole winery is dug underground and quite impressive. The wines were really nice and the presentation vivid and very informative

This winery is located on the southern end of the island down a steep drive. We stopped for a tasting on Dec 11, but after inquiring if they could ship to the US, we were told that they were not allowed to ship to the states. This was a bummer as we would have liked to take back some wine, and as we had quite a few other wines from other vintners, we had no room in our luggage to bring it back.

We drove all the way down the hill to this place only to be told that they could not serve us because they had groups arriving later (the place was nearly empty). There is no view and the cave smelled faintly of paint. We regret going there - other wineries are so much better in the area.

Hatzidakis Winery was the second stop on our wine tasting tour (via Santorini Wine Adventures) as well as our favorite stop! As far as the grounds, there isn’t much to see, although a small section of vines is visible from the parking lot. The tasting room is built into the side of a mountain, giving it a cool, cave-like vibe. Upon arrival, we were the only group of visitors, but the tables quickly filled up as we worked our way through 6 wine samples. As red wine drinkers, we were bummed to learn that Santorini produces mainly white grapes, however we thoroughly enjoyed the “Mavrotragano” (a dry red) & decided to purchase a bottle to take home. (We also ended up purchasing 2 bottles at the G.B. Roof Garden in Athens the following week!)

I would say that you must visit this winery. The facility itself is very impressive and the wine is great. We had a super friendly employee lead our wine tasting and we brought a bottle home with us.

Our experience here was fantastic. The presentation is excellent, the venue is beautiful, and the sommelier/co-owner that poured for us was incredibly informative and professional. They obviously care about their wines here, and it shows not only in the quality of the tasting but in the quality of the wine.
