Santo Wines was the standout experience of our recent Santorini holiday. Our experience was faultless.
We pre booked our wine tasting via their website before we travelled and opted for the 12 wine flight each and the cheese platter.
The setting was absolutely breathtaking. We arrived at 5pm for our reservation and were shown to our table. The perfect place to watch the sunset over the caldera.
Our server was amazing, he was extremely knowledgeable and told us about each individual wine. You also recieved a tasting note booklet and some nibbles.
They waiter suggested splitting our wine flights into three sittings, which was a brilliant idea and our delicious cheese platter was served with the final flight.
Unfortunately for us, on the day we visited it was extremely windy! As the sun set it did drop cold, however staff circulated with blankets for the guests. A lovely touch.
We had cheese left and this was boxed for us to take away and we also bought some wine to take back to our hotel.
Santo Wines was the more amazing, unforgettable experience. You must book this if you love wine and visit Santorini.
Thank you Santo Wines

The wine yard of Santo wines is the closest in the vicinity of Thira (fira) , Perissa , kamari , magalchori & well accessible by public transport . The other wineries in this region are further forward on the same line as Sanyo wines but if you do not have a car you will need to walk a good distance to reach them. But santo wines can be reached right at their door by a bus if you get down at Santo wines bus stop. That’s the advantage for this wineyard. We stayed in Perissa so took a bus just few stops and reached the winery which has impressive entrance and little further as you enter you will be greeted at the small desk of attendants who will help you with all the information. You can either buy a ticket to the cellar tour or wine tasting or simply enjoy the sea view bar restaurant . The in-house store is very good too to buy few wines or souvenirs. The tour costs are moderate and cellar is beautiful, it smells divine. The wine itself is great in taste with strong volcanic notes. I highly recommend to visit Santo wines especially if you have never visited any wineries , it will be a wonderful evening to do thing. Please note the last cellar tour ends at 6.00, check time table before going . No need of advance booking ( atleast I felt so)

We came on Friday without a reservation and had an incredible time, we had a nice table with great sunset views and went for the 9 tasting menu which was amazing. Great service from the staff too who were friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel really comfortable. A must do!

Once again a visit during winter will likely not reflect an experience during the longer and warmer days during spring through fall.
1. Sunset was relatively early, of course, which did not leave us much time to enjoy our flight of local wines; we had arrived a little late after exploring the island
2. There was no food service; the chef had taken time off.
3. The weather was not conducive to sitting outside; but there were few guests and we had no problem getting a table at one of the windows overlooking the caldera to watch the sunset.
Our waiter spoke excellent English and explained our options as far as the wine tasting was concerned taking into account the tolerance for alcohol, preference for white/red/both and cost. We ended up with a full spectrum of white/rose/red and sweet wine (vinsanto) at moderate pricing.
We had a great view. The window was so clean it almost seemed we were outside. The day had been gray and rainy so it was nice to see the cloud cover break a little and let sunbeams shine through.
I had higher expectations of Santo Winery. Our guide around the island was likewise surprised that the kitchen had been closed that day; the winery had made no mention of it when he called to check on their status.

We were looking forward massively to our visit having read all the positive reviews but we left disappointed. The views are amazing but from the minute we sat down everything was so average. All tables were dusty and sandy (even inside) and we had to ask the waiter to wipe it down and only half the table was then wiped down. The menu is quite confusing and hugely overpriced for the 6 small 50ml samples of wine. The accompanying food consisted of prepackaged cheese bites and what appeared to be shop bought bread bites. Both food items came out in cling film and lacked any personal touch. Staff at reception were not welcoming and everyone seemed too busy to help out /point out the toilets etc. Even when leaving, no one bothered to say thank you and goodbye. The place definitely has potential but the desire just doesn't seem to be there. Would recommend a nice bottle of wine in a bar in Fira and save yourself a trip here..

We had a private guided tour of Santorini and we wanted a side tasting experience and our guide recommended Santo. The only good thing about the experience was the view! We explained that we wanted to try some wines and learn about what they do there, but we had limited time as we were with a guide. We felt that we were pushed into trying the 9 wine flight which they only wanted to serve if we ordered food. We received our first 4 wines which were their white wines along with our nibbles platter and then we were handed a brochure to find out the information on our own. We were told nothing about the wines, we were told we could read about them in the brochure. Once we finished our white wines we waited and waited and waited for our red wines. We could not find anyone to ask about them and when someone did eventually come back out of wherever they were hiding, they completely ignored us! After about 20 minutes we finally found someone to ask about our other 5 wines and then it took another 10 minutes for them to find someone to serve them to us! Then the most surprising thing, all of the red wines had been chilled! When we eventually found the woman who had seated us we were told that they had a major problem with their card machine and it needed to be dealt with as it was of vital importance! We were apparently of no importance as the entire wait staff were in the office trying to fix it. Nothing was said to any of the guests. We were just left to our own devices and then treated like an interruption when trying to get some service! Fortunately we had some other lovely wine experiences while on the island.

Place is very nice, all covid regulations have been respected, staff was nice and well organized. Despite that, place is very touristic and price is very high. You have a nice view over caldera but there are plenty of places where you can get that.
We tried the 6Wine Flight and the oaked aged wines as well, good tasting experience.
We also did the winery tour which is something I wouldn't recommend at all, it's a total waste of money (10€/person): quick tour where you don't see anything special, simple explanation of the process and comments not very professional...it's made for tourists that don't know wine and wineries, and even for them I would say not do to it and save that money.

We visited Santo winery as my partners friends got married there 5 years ago. So on our trip, we decided to pay a little visit. We opted for the 9 wine tasting, it was self explanatory and the amount given was generous. A little booklet, mixed olives and breadsticks were provided along with this for approx 39Euro. We didnt order any platters of any kind but the couple next to us and this also looked lush! The view was supposed to be of the sunset but sadly at that very moment, all the mist and fog clogged up the entire view and it went grey. However, on clearing of this, the skies were filled with the prettiest pink hues! The views are worth going for and so is the wine. Afterwards we went and brought one bottle of red and one white to take home. The people are very knowledgeable about their wine and we wouldnt hesitate to go again. There is free parking available by the way.

We recently went on our 2nd visit to Santo Wines after first visiting in 2018.
We pre-booked our wine flights as we’d been before we knew what we were booking but I have heard of some confused by the best package to pick, the wine flights on the website are per person so if you order 2 lots of 12 wines then you’re getting 24 glasses! If you’re unsure what to order I would recommend contacting them ahead of time.
We also ordered some food which was very nice, our waiter was very helpful in explaining our wines, recommending what would complement each dish and ensuring we were happy and comfortable all evening (as the sun went down they brought us blankets which was a lovely touch).
The view from Santo is stunning, I don’t think we saw a better view of the sunset on the island.

Me and my mum visited for sunset on our final night in Santorini and the whole experience was amazing! The view is absolutely incredible. We sampled the five white wine tasting with a cold platter of charcuterie, figs and cheeses followed by Baklava (which was incredible). The view as the sun set was the best we saw in Santorini and the €89 we paid for the experience well worth it. What an incredible end to an amazing holiday and memories we will cherish forever. Thank you!

I’m going in a cruise to santorini and would really like to come here. How would I get here from port? Thank you
Written August 22, 2023
Hi cc 1689, when you arrive at the port in Santorini, just ask for the taxi rank near the main square, the taxi will take less than 10 minutes to Santo winery.
Make sure you book a table in advance as it does get busy for lunch or dinner.
Obviously dinner is the best time to see the beautiful sunset, if you’re having lunch, it’s still a magnificent view of the Caldera from your table.
Ask for a table at the front, beside the glass barriers at the edge of the cliff top.
Cheers

Does the wine flight come with snacks (cheese, meats etc)? Online booking states “wine pairing with mix variety.” Confused if I need to book charcuterie plate as well

Is it better to book 6pm or 7pm for sunset wine tasting? Will be there in September

We would like to reserve a front row table for dinner but I do not see a link to reserve a table for dinner only. I emailed and did get a respond with a pdf stating it will cost €50 per person to reserve but no link to make
This payment. Please let me know how to reserve a front row table for 4 for dinner. Thanks.

We were at the restaurant, so I don't know the link. Since there was no one there but us, we couldn't get over the fact that they wanted 50 Euro per person to sit in front.
