Surrounded by a beautiful, tranquil, well kept park. The Meeting Room where local politicians such as Aneurin Bevan and Neil Kinnock cut their teeth.

Last night (3/9) I attended a ‘gin night’ at Bedwellty House and it was fantastic. The drinks and food were delicious and the staff were great! Kian the duty manager was great. Polite and friendly and made us all feel really welcome. Thank you for a great night!

I was looking for somewhere to take my Mum where we could do a socially-distanced wander. Current Welsh COVID rules as of April 2021 mean people can meet outside and there is no geographical restraint on travel within Wales.

I needed somewhere within an hour’s drive of Cardiff (check), parking (check - nearby free parking), toilets (check), tea/coffee/snacks (check), space to wander/enough to entertain us for at least an hour (check), not too crowded (check). Bedwellty House had everything I needed with the added bonus of beautiful surroundings and plenty of open space and fresh air.

The staff were friendly and the facilities well cared for. The other visitors were relaxed and seemed to really respect and appreciated the surroundings.

The main house was closed at the time of our visit, but in fair weather there is plenty of outside exploring to be done. The grotto is an absolute gem.

We ordered drinks from the tea room hatch (dine in options aren’t permitted at time of writing) and sat on one of the many picnic benches on the lawn. Cakes and other bites were also available.

The site is on a gentle slope and all outdoor facilities looked to have good accessibility for mobility impaired visitors. A few disabled parking spots were available just inside the main entrance gate.

Tredegar Park is a wonderful place to visit even in winter it is magical, There are a lot of items to see and understand the History, I remember seeing Michael Sheen at the park, giving his annual talk on Nye Bevan, Wonderful. It can be viewed on Facebook

First meal out with the kids since lockdown. Obviously a bit worried to go out but all that was put to bed with lovely Service lovely food and tablets all spaced out . And the waitress that brought out food out made a real fuss of the kids and they loved her . Just want to thanks for making it feel safe 👌🏻

My Granddaughter absolutely loved it - and the tearoom afterwards was really excellent.
It was a wet, muddy and dismal day in half term - but they children were really well entertained and we all had a lovely meal and drink - reasonably priced - afterwards in a really clean well presented tea room.
Guide dog was welcomed too.

The Orchid Room has a lovely view out onto the grounds.
Value for money afternoon tea.
Convenient Disabled parking.
