- CamiWorld2 contributionsGreat fun!We went for my dad's birthday and it was amazing! We got to hold birds and have them fly into our hands (with the glove on, obviously). He taught us a lot about the different birds of prey that he has! And different species in general. It was really fun and very informativeVisited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 1, 2024
- Alec S3 contributionsA superb experience all round - highly recommended. We had a fantastic day out at Strathblane Falconry. Obviously the birds are the stars but Graeme is very knowledgeable, friendly and humorous. The falcons, hawks, eagles and owls are all beautiful and clearly very well cared for. We have done a group bird of prey experience in the past but this was quite different as plenty of time is taken as you are introduced to the different birds and various aspects of falconry, bird welfare etc. Spending time with these magnificent creatures is good for the soul and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit to Strathblane Falconry.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 7, 2024
- Courtney D1 contributionMay 2024 VisitMe and my dad had an amazing day with Graeme. We learned a lot about the beautiful birds he keeps and he was very accommodating to answer any questions we had. You can tell from Graeme's passion and knowledge about these animals that they are well looked after. We would definitely recommend Strathblane Falconry for anyone looking to get some experience with birds of prey.Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 8, 2024
- Anne F2 contributionsUnforgettable birthday present to be up-close to raptors, in beautiful surroundings & learn from a passionate falconer.Unforgettable experience, both sharing the moment with my daughter and getting close to the magnificent birds. Over the course of an hour, the two of us met 4 different birds, had two of them fly to us and learned a whole heap of information about raptors. Graeme was a fount of knowledge and interesting facts about the individual birds and their wider species and brought a sense of humour when birds were not at their co-operative best and the heavens opened in a downpour! It was clear that the welfare of the birds was at the top of Graeme's priority list, and that enhanced the whole experience for me. He picked up that my personal favourite raptor was the barn owl and so to have a 2 year old barn owl fly to my arm and then to be presented after with a memento of 3 perfect barn owl feathers was the icing on the cake. This was one of the most special birthday presents ever and I look at the photographs daily and thank Graeme for his care, his knowledge and for the opportunity to be up-close and personal with such beautiful and majestic wild life. Don't be in the area and miss a chance to spend some time getting close to these glorious raptors.Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten June 9, 2024

I don’t normally do reviews but felt this experience deserved the effort!
I had always wanted to try falconry and my partner gave me a gift voucher for Strathblane Falconry for Christmas.
Although, unfortunately, we were half an hour late due to a road closure, we were still warmly welcomed by Graham and had a really good half day session, which generously overran (my partner was able to listen in, watch and take photos).
I wasn’t sure what to expect but Graham’s entertaining, informative and humorous explanation of a subject, for which his enthusiasm was undeniable, was totally absorbing.
After a full insight into the world of falconry, I was given the opportunity to fly various different birds including falcons and owls followed by a walk through the grounds with a Harrier Hawk swooping down at regular intervals on to my arm for morsels of food. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable day out.
Many thanks Graham!

We had a brilliant day today with Graeme at Strathblane Falconry!! Graeme was very friendly, knowledgable and answered a million questions from our 3 kids (13, 11 & 9). We met and held 4 beautiful birds and had plenty of time to fly 2 of them and watch them feed. In fact, we were having such a great time that the hour ran way over. A really memorable experience for all of us, and I haven’t seen our kids this enthusiastic about anything for ages. They absolutely loved it and were talking about it all evening. I would highly recommend thinking of this for Christmas presents - outdoor so totally covid-friendly and gloves and hand sanitisers were supplied. Thank you Graeme!! We will definitely be back.

We were given a half day experience as a Christmas gift and only got round to using it due to Covid. What an amazing day we had! Graeme is a brilliant host - so knowledgeable and entertaining throughout! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and getting to see these magnificent animals up close was amazing. Would 100% recommend as a great day out or gift for someone who loves wildlife 🦅

I had an unbelievable half day session with Graham and his awesome birds. Graham himself is hugely knowledgeable, relaxed and welcoming, but the birds are the star of the show. As well as getting up close to some beautiful birds of prey and learning lots of interesting stuff about them, flying them and have them land on your glove was thrilling and awe inspiring. I wasn't sure what to expect learning about falconry, but I'm sure I'll be back to see graham and his birds of prey. What a great afternoon.

Just spent as good an experience as we've had with raptors ( as this was not our first time in the company of birds of prey) but was by miles our finest episode in their company. First of all this was a present for both my wife and myself for our joint birthdays which we were unable to fulfill before now due in part to the latter part of the pandemic. So we were looking forward to this and boy we were not to be disappointed.
Our host was Graeme, a man deeply steeped in his love for his birds, their welfare, and making this an experience to remember for all willing to participate and listen to his endless stories of his and their training. This is not a watch only situation but is an appreciation of some of the work that goes on to rear these birds of prey from different parts of the world and see their development , sharing this with anyone keen to learn and take away a hands on visit to remember.
Yes you get to hold on the glove several owls, a kestrel, an eagle, and hawks free flying and flying to you for a reward. You can photograph the birds and treasure the adventure on film as well. Graeme is a wonderful story teller who makes the visit complete and well worthwhile and we would thoroughly recommend this place to all.

Absolutely amazing day at Strathblane Falconry with Graeme and his incredible 22 birds. From the outset, it was completely clear that this was falconry taken seriously, with the welfare of the birds placed first and foremost. If you want to ‘poke and stroke’ birds and strip their feathers of essential protective oils, I’d head somewhere less professional. Graeme will make sure that you get plenty of up-close and personal time with the birds, but stroking is not on the agenda. The morning was spent learning about the different birds, with a huge amount of interesting information. This guy really does know his stuff and is a natural teacher, effortlessly capturing your focus. The morning rounded out with having a few of the falcons, owls and an eagle on your wrist. Magical to get that close to these magnificent creatures, and at times difficult to concentrate on Graeme. Frankly, it’s tough to concentrate on anything when there’s an eagle on your wrist.
After a lunch at the local hostelry, the afternoon was an incredible experience of actually flying the birds. By the time we had finished, we had flown a kestrel, barn owl, Siberian Eagle Owl, European Eagle Owl and had taken a Harris Hawk for a walk in the woods. It was a superb day out, which we will remember forever. Hard not to be entranced by the beautiful Bibi when she is perched on your wrist. Also difficult not to be amazed by the obvious connection between Graeme and his birds, especially Lobby the star of stage and screen.
I would recommend this to anyone. Except perhaps those of a delicate disposition, please remember these are prey birds, they are not vegetarian. This is nature in the raw, not some sanitised version.
Our sincere thanks to Graeme for an awesome day, which was worth every single penny.

What a day at Strathblane Falconry! Greame was really welcoming and engaging and so knowledgeable about his birds. He gave me lots of opportunity to work with the birds. The birds are clearly very well looked after and Greame clearly loves what he does. We went for the full day and had a fantastic lunch at the Kirkhouse Inn. The soup and sandwich was plentiful and delicious. Just what was needed on a cold damp day. Could not recommend the Strathblane Falconry experience highly enough.

Such a fantastic experience for our little family. The 12 and 13 year old boys thoroughly enjoyed it. Describing the experience as ‘awesome’ as we left. Graham’s knowledge and clear instructions were spot on. We felt safe and comfortable with these fascinating birds of prey. I highly recommend this experience.

Had a fantastic afternoon at Strathblane Falconry. It was great to see and handle these beautiful birds. Graeme was an excellent host and was able to answer any questions we had about these fascinating animals. Bought a gift voucher for 2 online and it represented excellent value for money. Would highly recommend a visit for anyone who gas an interest in birds of prey or wildlife.
