We’re Open All Year! If its your first time on a board or in a kayak that's not a problem! We run our very popular 1 hour taster sessions for SUP or Kayak on almost a daily basis weather and tide permitting. This 1 hour session is £25 per person includes our world leading equipment, buoyancy aids and instruction. Our team of professional instructors will get you out on the water enjoying yourselves in no time!

This is the second time I’ve booked a paddle board experience with the New Forest Paddle Board Company, and it certainly won’t be my last.
My first was an hour long lesson introducing me and a friend to paddle boarding back in the summer of 2020, which was great fun. After that I’d had my eye on the sunset picnic and paddle to Hurst Castle for a friend’s birthday. What an experience it was!
Caroline accompanied us on the paddle and was not only a brilliant instructor, but lovely company too. She gave us confidence on the water, and shared some great tips and skills with us on how to paddle well and in different conditions. We made our way over to Hurst Castle where we had a lovely picnic, before Caroline took us for the paddle home. The sunset was fantastic and just being on the water where it was so calm and peaceful was the icing on the cake.
I can’t wait to return again for another adventure, and I’m pretty sure my friend who accompanied me (it was her birthday treat) has well and truly got the paddle boarding bug too.

We had the most wonderful 2 hours with Caroline. She sussed our group within seconds had a fantastic sense of humour and was helpful kind as well as teaching us lots about SUP. We paddled through the marshes and had both a lot of fun and a giggle on the way…we even learned different turns by the end!
I couldn’t recommend her and the company enough. Very efficient, answered emails almost by return ( we were worried about thunderstorms so wondered whether the session would be cancelled) but felt completely safe. Best place by far locally …we will be back …sorry Caroline!

A friend and I had an intro lesson as part of one of the group SUP taster sessions. Our instructor Caroline was brilliant, super friendly and encouraging. She taught us all the basics and we had a wonderful experience trying paddleboarding for the first time - we'll definitely be back. I would highly recommend this taster session to anyone looking to try out paddleboarding for the first time. The whole team were super engaging and friendly.

My daughter and I just had a 2 hour kayak lesson with Paul. We were complete beginners. I thought we must be the worst pupils he has ever had. It reminded me of the Frasier episode when Niles and Frasier went to car mechanics evening classes! Paul was extremely patient and encouraging. We spent a full 2 hours kayaking around Keyhaven. By the end of our time we actually felt in good control of the kayaks and it’s something that we can now build upon. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommended.

Decided to try a kayak improver session, so met Paul at Keyhaven who had the kayaks and kit ready and waiting for us. In pretty windy and choppy conditions, he revised and improved our paddling technique which certainly helped. Paul has a wealth of knowledge and experience and passed on many tips. We ventured out to find some waves, learned how to stabilise the kayak and ride the wave, and had a lot of fun whilst doing so. He also showed us how to "sail" a kayak in the wind using your paddle! This was a great session and we loved every minute. We will be back!

We had a taster session on Tuesday 8 September with Caroline who was excellent at explaining how to do paddle boarding and also why. As a complete beginner I was very surprised at what I achieved, which was down to Caroline’s patience and encouragement. My partner is a surfer so took to it like a duck to water but also felt that Caroline gave him great insight into the difference between surfing & paddle boarding. We had a great time. All the equipment is sanitized after each session to comply with guidance. Thanks again Amanda & Barry

I booked a double kayak on the spur of the moment having seen a favourable weather forecast (48 hours notice), and thankfully the staff were able to accommodate me. The booking process was easy, and on the day the welcome was great, as was the equipment. We had a gorgeous 2 hour paddle around the salt marshes in the late morning sun - very quiet at this time of year, and a really beautiful way to see the wildlife. Hoping to come back for a summer outing.

This was my first time on a paddleboard so I booked a 1-2-1 lesson with The New Forest Paddle Sport Company which was easy to do and sorted at a couple of days notice. My instructor was Ali who was great from the start, she explained everything very clearly, wasted no time getting on the water and got me out paddling in minutes. She gave me confidence to stand up and enjoy Paddle boarding

Had a 1-2 session yesterday with Terry and absolutely loved it!
We had a lovely paddle out to Hurst castle and back, he was so friendly, knowledgeable, made massive improvements to our technique and helped us feel more comfortable planning our own paddles.
Our boards and kit were bought from Sean and we’ve done previous sessions with him - I highly recommend the New Forest Paddle Sport co. Everyone is so friendly, nothing is too much trouble and you’ll learn so much from them.

Hired four Pulse kayak's for two hours at a very reasonable price. It was quite choppy but we all enjoyed the kayak's which easily coped with the conditions. Arrived in time to find the kayak's set up, with buoyancy aids and paddles provided. A few quick tips from Paul and we were onto the water. This Company has a very friendly customer orientated approach, quality kit is provided together with safety gear. Highly recommended for Paddlesport lessons and hire.

Hi,
Our minimum age for SUP is 8 years old as long as they are confident and have been on the water before otherwsie we would recommend 10 as they would be on there own board and need to control it independently.
For under 8's we recommend a kayak taster where they can sit in the front of a double kayak with a parent behind them.
For all under 18's we require a parent to be taking part on the session with them as we are not AALS registered.
At the moment due to the covdi19 restricitons we dont offer wetsuit hire so we recommend lightweight clothing and footwear you dont mind getting wet with a change of clothes for afterwards.

Is it doable to kayak from milford on sea to barton on sea and how long does it take?

Hi Sarah,
It is doable but takes a bit of planning with tide times and weather. Recently we have has strong winds which make the sea very choppy and this would be a hard paddle.
Ideally you are looking for a morning paddle with the tide going out which would help you to Barton and then coming back on the incoming tide.
We only recommend paddling on the sea to competent paddlers who are happy rescuing each other if they capsize.
The other option would be to book us for a couple of hours to go out with an instrcutor
