Nice , but not value for money
Sep 2021 • Friends
We went for lunch , four of us . The service was ok although one of us asked for a drink with no ice ….. drink came with ice ….. The food was nice enough but portions were on the small side for the prices we were charged ,,,, would probably go elsewhere just for that reason

Poor food, go somewhere else to eat
Jun 2021
Ate here twice recently. First time wasn't great but they had a cheap lunch meal on so thought 'you get what you pay for'. We returned a few weeks later and ordered off the main menu, as they didn't seem to do the lunch deal at the weekend.

I ordered the Korean chicken. It was not pleasant. It was basically a piece of dry chicken in batter, with zero taste. The chips were clearly frozen but seemed full of grease. My partner had the curry and he said it was ok but it didn't look appetising, looked like it has been heat up in the mimcrowave to me. I ordered a lemonade and even that was horrible, had to send it back (too much soda) and ordered orange juice. We paid £35 for food that was not pleasant, felt that it was such a waste of money. The food is really poor here, the staff however were really pleasant. We won't be returning here for food. May be ok for a drink in the garden.

Disappointing food and servircr
Aug 2020 • Family
We booked a table at the Green Lodge to take advantage of the ‘eat out to help out’ scheme. We wish we hadn’t bothered. Two of us ordered the Korean bbq chicken burger. When it arrived, it was completely tasteless and bland. They then sent the wrong meal that we had ordered for my youngest daughter, and the scampi that another member of our group had ordered did not come with the minted pea purée that was advertised. Throughout our visit, service was dreadful. We had to ask for cutlery and condiments, and no one came over to check that everything was ok with our meals. We had to wait about 30 minutes for someone to come and clear away our plates, and we were not asked if we wanted a pudding. The lady who came to clear our plates asked how our meal was, and we told her our issues. She did say she would provide a selection of cake by way of recompense (there were 2).

When the bill eventually arrived it was for £56. I queried this, and was told that this wasn’t the amount that I had to pay. She then went to get a different bill that came to £26. We felt it seemed odd that the £26 bill was not provided on the first place. We appreciate that it was a sunny day and the beer garden was busy, however the standard was way below our expectations.

Lovely evening meal and room

Great location ... walked to/along the beach before coming back for a lovely evening meal (including good range of veggie and vegan choices). Stayed overnight in room 4 ... spacious, comfortable, quiet. Friendly helpful staff.

Family meal
Nov 2018 • Family
Visited last night for a family meal. Whilst at the bar i heard lots of people complaining. I should have left then but decided to stay. The meal was awful. I ordered a curry which i returned as it had no meat in it. My mother was given a prawn cocktail this was returned as the prawns were still frozen. Will never return awful. They also clearly have a staffing problem as the meal took a very long time.

Absolutely great in every way

We went to see how the pub looks after the recent refurbishment and check out the new menu, which is apparently now all cooked from scratch. It couldn't have been any better. The food was quite honestly amazing- everything cooked to perfection and served beautifully. There is a lot on offer- I had the veggie roast, which was the best I have ever tried. Everyone on the table loved their meal and we were even given some little samples of amazing cocktails to try, seeing as they were offering new food and drinks. The place looks beautiful and inviting with the new decor. What I was most impressed with was the staff. Even those who weren't technically waiting on us chatted with us and asked if we needed anything. It was busy but we didn't have a long wait for food and we never struggled to get someone to serve us due to the hard working and really professional seeming team of staff. We were greeted on the door and made to feel so welcome. We will absolutely be returning for another lovely afternoon.

Drinkers, go somewhere else
Arrived about 6.30 place was half empty.Went to the bar to get drinks whilst my wife went to find somewhere to sit. All the empty tables were reserved for diners, not a single seat for anyone just wanting a drink.Sat outside were it was a bit cool.Ended up leaving our drinks. If you want a meal make sure you ring up and reserve a table,if you just want a drink go somewhere else where drinkers are welcome
