About
We are an open, working family farm with indoor and outdoor adventure play areas, acres of beautiful walks, a large variety of farm animals including pigs, sheep, cows and goats. Activities on offer include free barrel rides, piglet racing, cuddle corner petting sessions with the smaller animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs. We also run pony rides and tractor tours of the farm at a small extra cost. Lots of picnic areas and a large family restaurant.

I took my daughters, aged 5 and 2, to West Lodge Farm today. We queued for about 10 minutes outside, but this is understandable as the times are staggered.

On arrival, the staff were really friendly and helpful which was a very positive first impression. We bought two bags of feed which were 50p each. We booked a session in the indoor Adventure Barn which was easy to do and were also assigned a table number. As I was attending as a single parent, I was given a table very close to the actual soft place which I thought was really considerate! We then used our little map, free of charge, and started to explore the different areas.

The first thing we did was go and pet some rabbits, chicks and guinea pigs which was really relaxing. There was a restricted number of families allowed in the area which was manned by a member of staff. This made sense as the area was small and I think we only waited 5 minutes!

We then went to visit all the hens, chickens and turkeys which were very vocal! We fed the goats which had the sweetest little faces...

My children absolutely LOVED the outdoor play area! It really was a highlight. Both children could explore the area which me sitting at the side, observing. It really was wonderful, and I was pleased that both girls could explore safely even though they are different ages.

The Indoor play are was great! Everybody is assigned a table to sit at/put all their belongings on. i thought this was a great idea. Although, I did get knocked over by a teenager running around. They must have been 15/16 years which I thought was a little bit silly. The girl did find me later on and apologise which was fine! There really should be a height restriction on children as my 2 year old was in danger of being pushed when said-teenagers were in full flow. To be fair to them, it wasn't all the time but I did leave slightly earlier as a result.

We then spent the rest of our time watching the sheep racing (amazing!!!!) and went on a barrel train. There is plenty of room for picnics which is fab. I would definitely recommend taking a picnic as it did look a little expensive, especially if buying for one or more child as well!

Staff were mostly late teenagers/young adults but I was staggered by the information that they had about each of the animals! I had a lovely chat with a young man about Max the donkey!!!

All in all a fabulous day which wasn't spoilt from the rain in any way. I am even considering buying a season ticket as a result.

I visited this place during school term time with 3 children, it was around £7 each. I thought this was a fair price for what we got. But I saw that prices are higher during school hols and weekends. I’m not sure I’d pay more to visit during these times, as. £7 seemed a fair price & anything else would be too expensive. There’s not a great deal of animals there, but enough to keep kids happy. There were a few pigs, lots of sheep & goats, turkeys, a peacock, chickens, Guinea pigs and rabbits. There was also a couple of donkeys. The petting time involved Guinea pigs and rabbits sat on a table so they could be stroked. Nobody was allowed to hold the animals like at other farms we have visited. We were lucky to visit during lambing and got to see some very cute lambs. We also got to feed them some milk. My kids also loved the barrel ride, which was included in the price.

The outside play area is really lovely, ideal for older and younger kids. There are also lots of picnic benches around the farm. The inside play area was lovely too, a wooden tree themed area. My kids loved both play areas and I think these are definitely the highlight of the farm park. The shop was reasonably priced and there was also a little farm shop selling meats, eggs and other very tasty looking produce.

We enjoyed our day here & it was reasonably priced. But as I said, I’m not sure it would be worth it for the higher price charged in school holidays and weekends. The staff seemed very friendly though.

Our 3rd visit to the farm, but the first time in a long time and as it was our first trip out since lockdown we were not sure what to expect.

We found it was a great day out. The place wasnt as busy as it used to be which meant everyone could keep their distance nicely. All the staff were polite and friendly. We explored everywhere, including the woods & the witches cottage. It was great to see the farm workers had clearly been spending the time they were closed during lockdown to really catch up on maintenance, everywhere looked in really good condition with new fences and stuff clearly visable.

We had a tractor ride which the kids loved, fed the animals and played in the play area. The toilets were very clean & child friendly (i.e. easy for children to use). There was a petting area and lots of different animals for children to look out for and spot. If you are with older children there are some longer walks you can take through the woods & around the farm.

We decided to use the restaurant for a pre-booked meal and the staff in there were also friendly. The food was outstanding. The double burger was amazing, really really tasty, which I was not expecting for a restaurant on a farm! With the government "eat out & get 50% off", our bill came to around £5 each which was even more amazing.

Great place to visit for a family day out.

Had a lovely day out with the kids. Lots of animals, especially lambs. For a farm it is well kept and the kids loved the bucket tractor rides. Good indoor and outdoor play area. Staff were friendly. Lacking in add-on's other farms have such as stamp books / maps / interesting fact boards / animal names / feeding times etc.
Main let down was the price and quality of the food. The sandwiches weren't marked up so we had to guess what was in them (real problem from an allergens POV), and hot food there were only three choices instead of a menu. No snacks such as a plate of chips available, even though they cook chips to go with the hot meals. A hot childrens meal was £5.50 and an adult meal £7.50, neither of which included drinks. I got two separate childrens meals for my kids and I ate some of what was left over - really poor quality food that after eating some realised why my kids hadn't finished their portions.
I would visit this park again, but will 100% be taking a picnic.

Not bad but way too expensive. £10.50 for adult and £15 for children is just the entrace fee. Ah you want a tractor ride, okay that's £3 per person, you want mini golf? Okay that's £2 per person. Ah you want some lunch, okay let us charge you £9-14 per meal £1.50-3.00 per drink and serve you mediocre food. Actual warning to all parents my babies burger was RAW, so be mindful, high pricess do not bring high quality. All in all forgetful experience without even a fridge magnet to show for it. Do not recommend, borderline a scam.

First trip to this farm and what a beautiful farm it is.So much to see and so much to do from animal petting, play parks, pig and sheep racing and the barrel rides which were a big hit.
There are a few extra activities to do (golf, horse riding, tractor ride) with an additional cost but nothing that’s costly.Plenty of Picnic benches and outdoor seating areas scattered around.
The indoor play area is immaculate, and it’s brilliant that they book you in for it when you arrive and also allocate you a table number too. We arrived at 11am and left gone 5pm and was entertained the whole time.
Just want to say a massive thank you to the first aider James after my little boy fell and injured himself resulting in a quick trip to the local walk in centre. You was brilliant from start to finish so thank you very much!
And to the lovely lady on reception who refunded our tractor ride as we had missed it before we came back. All staff are friendly and smiley and nothing is too much bother for any of them.
This farm is very well ran and I will definitely be returning,me and my kids thoroughly enjoyed it.

I took my Grandson along to entertain him during his holiday from nursery. He had a great time- playing in the outdoor play area kept him busy for a long time. The castle climbing frame and the tractors being his favourite. We also fed the greedy goats and walked to the Witches house. It made me laugh to see him confidently tell me about the witch not being in - knock on the door- and quickly run away (just in case). The walk through the woods was lovely and shaded with just the right amount of mud in the trackway for him to get muddy!! I avoided it though! Very tasty chocolate cornet was enjoyed too. We will be back soon.

This is one of the best farms I have been to. The animals were all healthy, well cared for and their enclosures were clearly maintained by people who love animals. The enclosures were also spacious.

The petting area was lovely and we made a couple of visits. The animals were calm and settled.

The grounds are vast and welcoming and the play areas for children are fantastic!
We took a picnic and sat at one of the many picnic benches, so cannot comment if the restaurant facilities. The staff in the main building were friendly and welcoming.

Every effort was made to adhere to the social distancing measures enforced upon us all by COVID-19 enabling all visitors to feel safe and relaxed.

A really great day out and we will be back!

We've been coming here since my 9 year old was a baby and we love it. Staff are friendly, I can relax knowing my children are safe to run around, the facilities are great and restaurant recently really improved. The annual pass is great value for locals like us and there are regular themed weekends. Most extras within the farm are free, except pony rides and the large tractor rides so you don't feel like you're constantly being done for money. The walks are glorious, there's loads of wildlife and a new indoor playbarn which the kids love.
