About
We are an open, working family farm with indoor and outdoor adventure play areas, acres of beautiful walks, a large variety of farm animals including pigs, sheep, cows and goats. Activities on offer include free barrel rides, piglet racing, cuddle corner petting sessions with the smaller animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs. We also run pony rides and tractor tours of the farm at a small extra cost. Lots of picnic areas and a large family restaurant.

- The Weston Family61 contributionsThank you so muchAbsolutely magical experience. I cannot rave about this place highly enough. The Christmas experience was amazing, all elves looked fantastic and put on a great believable show, with some oomph. Elf village amazing with the brilliant glasses. Santa himself was brilliant. Lovely touch with the free photo after. Toy shop well stocked. Lovely activities to complete throughout the farm. Gingerbread decorating was a bit hectic but enjoyed nonetheless. Marshmallow toasting, fairy lit mazes and the live nativity topped off the day. We loved it and can’t wait to book another day out and Easter!Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten January 9, 2024
- becca eLeicester, United Kingdom15 contributionsParty funWe came for a party today, which was lovely. It was great to feed the lambs and go on the tractors and we are already planning our next visit to walk the trails. I wanted to shout out to the ladies on reception (9/03) who were really kind when my daughter spilled her feed and also to Poppy who helped host the party, who was lovely about her allergy. Many thanks!Visited March 2024Traveled with friendsWritten March 9, 2024
- Maps3983477 contributionsGreat family day out.We visited here as a central meeting point for family. It was absolutely lovely, and the perfect size for my two children (8 and 6), parents and grandparents to pootle around for the day. The staff were excellent, especially Tasnim and James, who were so friendly and outgoing with the children. They also both had such a great amount of knowledge and obvious passion in what they do. The lunch room was much nicer than other farms I've visited (though veggie options were basically a moving mountains burger or jacket potato), and there was a good range of different activities to try. I loved that the ponies were rotated so the same one didn't have to plod around carrying children for a really long time. Most animals had relatively generous enclosures and it was lovely to see most baby animals being kept with the parent. Tractor ride was great, can't think of anything at all that I would complain about. It's over an hours drive for us but we'll be back! My daughter has decided she wants to work there just so she can learn from Tasnim, which is lovely!Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 6, 2024
- banbury1104 contributionsBrilliant day outFrom the moment we arrived we knew we were going to have a good day. Staff at reception were friendly and helpful. We visited with family and children ranging from 2 to 9. We all had a great day seeing the animals, feeding the lambs, enjoying the adventure playground etc. We were impressed with the amount of washing facilities available and facilities for picnicking under cover. We thought extras such as pony ride were good value. We spent the whole day there and the children loved it.Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 20, 2024
- TheMuir1972East Midlands, United Kingdom7 contributionsA great place, but a few little moans I'm afraidWe are big fans of West Lodge Farm Park. We have been for many years and love the mix of animals, beautiful countryside and various play areas for the kids. We caught the sheep racing this time and the barrel ride is a big favourite for our kids. Plus the free onsite parking is appreciated! A few moans this time I'm afraid: 1) Our daughter paid £3.25 for her Pony ride. This consisted of one lap of the small field and was over in less than 3 mins. We turned up at 1345 for a 2pm session and were on straight away. Same for the kids behind us in the queue! It all seemed a bit production line and one of the staff finished and was straight onto their mobile phone. A bit disappointing I'm afraid. Last time we did this we had at least 2 laps. 2) At the end of the day my wife was asked to leave the indoor soft play area as she was not wearing socks. The policy that is advertised on lots of boards nearby says only those wearing long trousers and long tops can access the soft play. 90% of kids and adults were not in that category! Others wearing shoes were not asked to leave. No problem having policies, but please apply them as advertised. As we say, we love the place. But little things make a difference don't they?Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 20, 2024

Had a lovely day out with the kids. Lots of animals, especially lambs. For a farm it is well kept and the kids loved the bucket tractor rides. Good indoor and outdoor play area. Staff were friendly. Lacking in add-on's other farms have such as stamp books / maps / interesting fact boards / animal names / feeding times etc.
Main let down was the price and quality of the food. The sandwiches weren't marked up so we had to guess what was in them (real problem from an allergens POV), and hot food there were only three choices instead of a menu. No snacks such as a plate of chips available, even though they cook chips to go with the hot meals. A hot childrens meal was £5.50 and an adult meal £7.50, neither of which included drinks. I got two separate childrens meals for my kids and I ate some of what was left over - really poor quality food that after eating some realised why my kids hadn't finished their portions.
I would visit this park again, but will 100% be taking a picnic.

We've been coming here since my 9 year old was a baby and we love it. Staff are friendly, I can relax knowing my children are safe to run around, the facilities are great and restaurant recently really improved. The annual pass is great value for locals like us and there are regular themed weekends. Most extras within the farm are free, except pony rides and the large tractor rides so you don't feel like you're constantly being done for money. The walks are glorious, there's loads of wildlife and a new indoor playbarn which the kids love.

I visited this place during school term time with 3 children, it was around £7 each. I thought this was a fair price for what we got. But I saw that prices are higher during school hols and weekends. I’m not sure I’d pay more to visit during these times, as. £7 seemed a fair price & anything else would be too expensive. There’s not a great deal of animals there, but enough to keep kids happy. There were a few pigs, lots of sheep & goats, turkeys, a peacock, chickens, Guinea pigs and rabbits. There was also a couple of donkeys. The petting time involved Guinea pigs and rabbits sat on a table so they could be stroked. Nobody was allowed to hold the animals like at other farms we have visited. We were lucky to visit during lambing and got to see some very cute lambs. We also got to feed them some milk. My kids also loved the barrel ride, which was included in the price.
The outside play area is really lovely, ideal for older and younger kids. There are also lots of picnic benches around the farm. The inside play area was lovely too, a wooden tree themed area. My kids loved both play areas and I think these are definitely the highlight of the farm park. The shop was reasonably priced and there was also a little farm shop selling meats, eggs and other very tasty looking produce.
We enjoyed our day here & it was reasonably priced. But as I said, I’m not sure it would be worth it for the higher price charged in school holidays and weekends. The staff seemed very friendly though.

This is one of the best farms I have been to. The animals were all healthy, well cared for and their enclosures were clearly maintained by people who love animals. The enclosures were also spacious.
The petting area was lovely and we made a couple of visits. The animals were calm and settled.
The grounds are vast and welcoming and the play areas for children are fantastic!
We took a picnic and sat at one of the many picnic benches, so cannot comment if the restaurant facilities. The staff in the main building were friendly and welcoming.
Every effort was made to adhere to the social distancing measures enforced upon us all by COVID-19 enabling all visitors to feel safe and relaxed.
A really great day out and we will be back!

It had been raining for days so I took my grandson to West Lodge as they have indoors soft play. We had lunch first which was good then we had a a quick walk round the indoor animal pens. You can buy food to feed the animals, there were some very young lambs which were really cute. There were lots of other animals, guinea pigs, rabbits, hens, geese, pigs etc. There’s an outdoor play area, and a little ride for the little ones. The indoor play area is interesting for the children with lots of different levels nooks and crannies. There’s a cafe at the side of the play area so you can sit sipping coffee whilst you watch the children. There also a good reasonably priced restaurant too. The farm park is good for all the family.

Not bad but way too expensive. £10.50 for adult and £15 for children is just the entrace fee. Ah you want a tractor ride, okay that's £3 per person, you want mini golf? Okay that's £2 per person. Ah you want some lunch, okay let us charge you £9-14 per meal £1.50-3.00 per drink and serve you mediocre food. Actual warning to all parents my babies burger was RAW, so be mindful, high pricess do not bring high quality. All in all forgetful experience without even a fridge magnet to show for it. Do not recommend, borderline a scam.

First trip to this farm and what a beautiful farm it is.So much to see and so much to do from animal petting, play parks, pig and sheep racing and the barrel rides which were a big hit.
There are a few extra activities to do (golf, horse riding, tractor ride) with an additional cost but nothing that’s costly.Plenty of Picnic benches and outdoor seating areas scattered around.
The indoor play area is immaculate, and it’s brilliant that they book you in for it when you arrive and also allocate you a table number too. We arrived at 11am and left gone 5pm and was entertained the whole time.
Just want to say a massive thank you to the first aider James after my little boy fell and injured himself resulting in a quick trip to the local walk in centre. You was brilliant from start to finish so thank you very much!
And to the lovely lady on reception who refunded our tractor ride as we had missed it before we came back. All staff are friendly and smiley and nothing is too much bother for any of them.
This farm is very well ran and I will definitely be returning,me and my kids thoroughly enjoyed it.

We booked a session on a Friday when it was £5 after 3.30pm. Amazing value as it was open until 8. Lots to do and the staff were amazing! So friendly and lovely to see. I took my 2 youngest (7 and 3) and they loved feeding the animals, seeing the pigs and loving the indoor play area.
A lot to do and a nice venue. The team have worked hard to provide an affordable experience.

A really nice feel to this little farm at first complete with piglet racing which was our favourite part of the day.
Bottle feeding the lambs was a bit of a free for all. Children had to go down to the front to be given a bottle to take a turn. We saw the same few children feeding them all. More timid children who didn’t want to push and jostle to the front didn’t get a look in. As you can imagine this was very disappointing.
The restaurant onsite provided us with our biggest disappointment. One of the female staff in her 30s or 40s with long reddish hair was openly being extremely hostile and condescending towards the younger staff members in the way that she was speaking to them and her facial expressions and attitude as she was doing so. It was very unpleasant to witness as we were trying to enjoy our meal together. We were left feeling rather uncomfortable.
As the sane staff member was passing our table she grabbed my husbands chair ( it was empty at the time as he was ordering our food) and angrily snapped ‘ let’s get that out of the way’
She then shoved the chair under our table with such unnecessary force that it slammed into my knee and actually hurt me! She must have known what she had done due to my sharp intake of breath as the chair hit me yet she just continued storming through as if nothing had happened!
Our group were all astounded at her rudeness and cam away not feeling valued at all.
I emailed the farm directly to complain about this particular staff member bit the didn’t even bother to reply which speaks volumes.
Disappointed

Can you get access to cafe/restaurant without tickets for rural centre?

I saw people with small dogs on leads and medium sized dogs too. Obviously with farm animals about they do not want dogs off leads. Bear in mind farmers are allowed to shoot dogs if they attack the livestock.

Are you still organising forest school birthday parties as your website suggest? Thank you

Not sure. However the indoor section would be great for a birthday party especially if it was poor weather.

I really want to bring my little boy here tomorrow, but as my partners at work I want to get there from northampton using public transport, can anybody help me??
Written April 5, 2016
West Lodge is a little out of the way it may as suggested use the bus and walk however alternatively bus to Corby or Desborough and use a taxi
The roads are narrow and not the best for walking on with young children
Hope this gives you another option
