This is the 2nd time we've been now and today we managed to see 3 lambs been born and just seconds of seeing a calf! It's an amazing little place! My 6 and 1 year old love it! Can't wait to return again in summer!

I knew I was going at the weekend, so I checked out trip advisor. Naturally I looked at the negative reviews. That's how I am. So when I got there I realised that some people who left negative reviews should never leave their houses. There was plenty to see, plenty of activities, good value displays. And for the reviewer who... More

I do not like giving negative reviews but we were so upset during our visit on Saturday 18th March that I felt I had to address this. It was our second visit to Kirkley Hall zoological gardens and we were thoroughly enjoying our afternoon until our youngest grandchild spotted sheep at the very bottom of the zoo. This area was... Good morning, I would like to offer my sincere apologies for any upset that was caused this weekend during your visit to Kirkley Hall. The area to which you refer is not accessible to the public at present but can still be seen by our zoo visitors. The land is being used as a temporary measure for the spring season... More

Great day out. We pottered backwards and forwards between the gardens and the zoo. Nice secluded picnic areas in the gardens and a woodland trail. Zoo is small. My daughter loved it and wants to go back for a zoo school party for her birthday.

We went here today since the sun was out. Decent sized little zoo. Lots to see. Our 16 month old son loved the monkeys and the birds. Would visit again

I went with my twelve year old, buoyed by TripAdvisor reviews. I am reticent to post a slightly negative review, but it is important for visitors to appreciate how small this attraction is. 'Zoological garden' is a rather grand description. It is not as big as Google Maps might initially suggest. The zoo occupies a plot within the whole Kirkley... More

This is a zoo for people who don't want a big organisation, which is primed to take their cash but little else. Some have commented here that it is small. And it is compared with Chester, but it's not Chester Zoo. Here, you can get up close and personal. I loved seeing the alpacas, the leemas, and the reindeers. These... More

We visited with a mix of ages, grandma, 2 x 50 somethings with children ranging from 10 - 25. The site is fairly small and the car parking overcrowded on busy weekend days. The price is fine however the children were a little disappointed with the animals as there isnt any option to interact and the enclosures are fairly squashed... More

Myself and two friends with their children aged 9 years 2 years and 18 months had a wonderful time at the Zoological gardens. The keepers were on hand all the time, and answered all questions that we had, and were lovely with all of the children. We even got the opportunity to hold the bunnies and guinea pigs, and watched... More
