My family of four with our two 11 year old sons visited here recently. The entry price was quite reasonable as we chose to only visit the zoo (£21 approx) the price jumps up to around about £50 to include the zip wire, assault course, climbing wall and archery. These can also be paid for separately and the cost is... More

Well worth a visit. Lots to see chance to feed and handle animals. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable and happy to chat about animals. Value for money, accessible and plenty picnic areas, as long as you don't mind sharing with the many peacocks which wander around. However they are very friendly.

We went on the African tour here to learn about the african inhabitants of the zoo as it was Africa week when we visited. The guide Brogan was very informative and she managed to keep the kids attention. We seen lots of differant animals and birds and then afterwards all the males in our party, myself and friend (20s) and... More

Quaint little place. The staff really make it. Handling sessions and talks were good. Orangery restaurant up at the hall was lovely. Glasshouses were a big disappointment, why mark them on the map? Some of the formal gardens were lovely and some parts looked like they needed a tidy up. Overall a nice day out. My daughter is now obsessed... More

We went for a 5y old birthday party recently. Started with a tour of the zoo which was ok but rather disorganised.Think the girls who they hired to look after the party were a bit out of their depth looking after children. Then they got everyone into the party room to do something but those two quickly ran away. I... More

We visited Kirkley this weekend as my son was a guest at a party there. While my daughter and I waited for the party to take place we went round the zoo. It had a small aquarium, reptile house, aviary and larger animals outside. The best part of our visit was the petting barn. My 6 year old loved it.... More

Ok, so it's a bit small, but with entry fee a third of the price of most Zoos that's to be expected. A good variety of animals, all seemed well looked after and staff were friendly. Would certainly visit again.

A must visit for any family with young children who like animals. The site is small, well laid out with plenty to see. We thought it was good value for money and our 3 year old loved it. There are other attractions as part of the complex but we only managed the zoo as this took us most of the... More
