Well worth spending a few hours wandering around - all animals appear well kept in suitable clean enclosures. Interesting selection of birds and reptiles to see, which thankfully have their own heated areas during the current freezing weather

Me and my girlfriend spent a good few hours here today and we absolutely loved it!! It was raining heavy but thankfully there were loads of indoor sections which meant that we could stay dry and hang out with the monkeys. We went to the animal encounter room just before we left and had a great time meeting the reptiles... More

A great day visit for children and adults alike. Very surprised at the amount of varied animals in the small zoo. The guide was extremely knowledgeable concerning the animals. We went on a woodland walk which was wonderful showing lovely autum colours. Looking out for red squirrels in the conservation area. Hides to view bird life in their natural environment.... More

We've been here a few times but just to the zoo. Today We bought a combined ticket so my 7 year old could go on the zip wire, climbing wall and archery sessions and she had a great time, the instructors were really patient and encouraging. The staff in the zoo were all equally friendly, especially one lad in the... More

I reviewed Kirkley Hall approx 2 years ago, and returned in August of 2016, again with my grand-daughter. We actually had an even better time as she was able to take part in hand feeding wallabies which she loved. Again the staff were brilliant with the kids and we were able to watch a talk while holding a tortoise and... More

Our little boy really enjoyed the gardens with the animals. There was some animals & birds that we hadn't seen before like the bush dogs so that was nice. It is small but it does offer an hour or so of entertainment

Tip1: Take up the option to purchase entry to the zoo gardens and the outdoor activities aswell. This includes supervised archery, zip wire and a climbing wall.(worth the extra payment). Tip 2: Take your own food. The hot dogs that you can buy on site are average and overpriced. The zoo is small, but interesting and the outdoor activities offered... More
