- Caterpillar CLiverpool, United Kingdom20 contributionsMagnificent museumSuperb museum with so much to see and the amount of memorabilia of all aspects is truly amazing. A fantastic day out . Went for a visit with my wife and we're both in awe ot the vastness of the collection and the variety of objects on display. Great friendly chatty staff running the museum too . Throughly recommended to go for a visit there you could literally spend a full week there to see everythingVisited April 2023Written April 15, 2023
- Kay H3 contributionsFabulous!!!What an amazing place!! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit today. So much to see, you need a good few hours to really do it justice. The proprietor is a very amiable and knowledgeable fellow who has obviously put a huge effort into collecting and displaying all the wonderful things to be seen. Highly recommend a visit if you are in this area.Visited May 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten May 3, 2023
- Paul LNuneaton, United Kingdom16 contributionsA Brilliant Way to Spend A Day!If you have a FULL day to spare and wish to reminisce about Days-gone -By, then this is the place for you! We went in 2019 and would definitely go again to enjoy the 'old times' that the collection brings back to you. I have my photo taken with the cab of the lorry that was involved in the Great Train Robbery in 1963. I sat and read newspapers as we brewed a cuppa from the kettle that's left on the side for your own use! Its a man-cavern full of relics and memorabilia from the past 100yrs and is a MUST for anyone who likes that kind of thing. DON'T MISS IT!Visited June 2022Traveled as a coupleWritten May 16, 2023
- Caroline FStoke-on-Trent, United Kingdom54 contributionsA fabulous find !!An absolutely fantastic find !! Why this is not more publicised is baffling its one of the best museums i have ever been too .The memorabilia is vast with things i could not have imagined and bought back so many memories. As a hairdresser it was fascinating to see things i remember from my days as an apprentice 44 yrs ago. I cannot express enough why you should give this place a visit .We had the good fortune to meet Sparrow Harrison who owns the collection, what a fascinating man with many stories to tell .If your visiting North Wales please give this place a visit, they need the support , you wont regret itVisited June 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten June 20, 2023

Loved looking round the household items, so many familiar. Would recommend to see for yourself.Visited June 2023Written June 25, 2023
- Tilly924 contributionsGreat memorabilia! We loved this place , very rustic but a treasure trove of everything 1950s onwards . Staff were very friendly and helpful. The sports section was also very good . Lots of trips down memory lane and a good range of articles to read as you go around . Not ideal for small children as you can touch things and could get broken but a great find !Visited July 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten July 3, 2023

- weekender2280Lincolnshire, Illinois49 contributionsGreat museum to bring back memoriesAn excellent idiosyncratic & wide-ranging and quirky collection providing an insight into the 1950s. We visited and just spent hours there. So many things to see and read, so much background information and although a huge collection, it is beautifully laid out and very easy to see the themes represented. We stayed all day and would high recommend you to visit, especially if you are old enough to remember the 1950s. So many things you have forgotten...... so many memories......Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 2, 2023

Where to start ????????????
Sat nav takes you to a house close by.there are
So many health and safety problems here the museum it’s self was just ok.some of the items look like they need a good clean, there’s no live to the place it’s dull and very untidy. Everything is clumped together and a mess.
There’s lots of major faults
1.the manager Sparrows Wasn’t pleasant at all. He doesn’t social distance he had no mask on and went from person to person.shaking hands and chatting,
we saw him telling of the staff in a very unpleasant way.the girl looked ready to cry. he didn’t care who saw.
2.The carpark was full of metal objects and looked like it was part of a recycling center.
3,The car park had lots of underfed animals running around.chickens with no feathers. It looked like they were so poorly little mites :(.
4.There were people fixing doors which really needed to have been finished by now he was banging so loud it hurt your ears.
5.People there living in a caravans opposite the museum. Is this even legal??.
4 Caravans we saw definitely not a good look for the museum. You drive down the drive and at the bottom greater by the first van then one in the carpark and another 2 in the other carpark.
It makes the place look such a mess there’s people everywhere. A man was actually cooking outside.
5.There was lots mess everywhere the drive down to the museum had branches overhanging that can clip
Your car all the metal
On the ground and food waste they must chuck
On the floor for the animals banana and teabags we saw.
6 The main carpark had a large fire with black smoke.
You cauldnt actually see your car it was that bad. People were
Actually coughing due to it was so bad.
I’d say it was plastic they were burning due to the smell.
7. It’s not somewhere We would go back to which is a shame. It has the ability to be a nice place.
I don’t really leave reviews but this place I needed to. It had been so highly spoke about and many of my friends have been here.
I just didn’t see the big attraction??
yesterday was just dreadful I’d say honestly avoid the place

We called here today of the of chance and have to say the museum was good.the outside looks tired needs a makeover.
Very scruffy looking place.
Downside the amount of smoke in the main carpark it was awful.
You couldn’t breath with it. There was a huge fire blowing everywhere. We smelt it all the way around the museum
Met some nice people
There tho and would maybe come back one day

An attraction run by lovely, gentle people living a simple life and running a museum of 1950s memories. It was lovely to see the old house and kitchen ware and the old vehicles. Very good value for the experience. We all thought however it could be so much better with a little bit of organisation and fewer exhibits! It is very cluttered with duplicated items , walls full of cigarette packets, every surface piled high with crockery and old equipment. Totally overwhelming for visitors and making it very hard to keep clean. What they are doing is admirable- they may need to accept help from expert curators to turn it into a more enjoyable tourist destination.

I was brought to Cae Dai 1950’s Museum for a birthday treat.
My first reaction was that it’s was some sort of joke. Scrap, a rusting car, a row of what looked like old washing machines in front of me and chickens, so tame that they clucked and pecked around my feet.
I swallowed hard and tried to look as if I was enjoying myself. In we went and I was transported into another world. Memories of my childhood came zooming in as I surveyed the artefacts. These are difficult to catalogue and curate but there were themes of a sort. I could hear 50’s American Rock n Roll in the background and I shed over 60 years as I remembered stuffing 3d pieces on the jukebox at our local cafe. Turn a corner and there was our old Bush wireless, cheek by jowl was a Dansette Record Player. Toys, cigarette cards, cocktail cabinets, a Ford Popular in exactly the same finish as mine - my first car. What an eclectic jumble of items. Cae Dai is on my list for a revisit - maybe a couple!

Visited Cai Dai today having travelled a long way. Parked up and was asked by a member of staff if we were visiting the museum. Confirmed that we were and received a thumbs up from the staff member. However a couple of minutes later the staff member approached again and told us the museum was closed until Wednesday for maintenance work. Very surprised that this could happen within a couple of minutes. Very disappointed and a wasted trip.

Being a product of the ‘50s myself, I found the incredible and varied number of exhibits here absolutely fascinating.
From cigarette packs, with some bizarre health claims, through to the great train robbery detail, the place is full of vehicles, furniture, clothing, electrical equipment etc etc. all bringing back memories from my youth. I had a laugh at some of the advertising media, that certainly was of an age 😀 and probably not acceptable even in the ‘50s.
There is so much to see, that you can lose yourself in nostalgia for hours and hours.
Staff were inviting knowledgeable and helpful, and the museum is a credit to them, and all involved.
I will definitely return again when in the area, and highly recommend the museum to all.

What a gem of a Museum, went there with a disabled person wheel chair bound and was able to get around the thousands of 1950's and 1960's items from Televisions to cars to Shop and room mock ups. Everywhere you turn there is something else to see. I was taken right back to my childhood .
Well worth the visit and I would happily go again.

Not sure but plenty of space for your dog outside of the building. The staff seem quite relaxed though so worth a try.

No there is nowhere to eat , but the town is only minutes away by car . Depending on what day you go , there is plenty of eating places , the glass onion on the back row is especially nice but close about 3 pm
