Me and my young daughter love a trip to Denbigh library and visit at least once a week to refresh our bedtime story haul and just to enjoy being around all those books! The staff are all wonderfully helpful & friendly and super efficient at getting any book requests from other libraries to Denbigh. There are always holiday activities arranged for children.. treasure hunts / craft events / science workshops etc.. so well worth visiting and finding out what's going on if you have little ones. Just to note - they are closed on Thursdays!!... but open every other day bar Sunday (until 12.30pm Saturday). PC's and printing facilities are turned off around 15 mins before closing. A wonderful community facility and social hub in Denbigh.

What a great start to the Easter holidays! Well done St Asaph library for putting on such a brilliant activity. Hunting for clues round the common and back to the library to collect our prize - an Easter egg. Looking forward for the crafts on Wednesday.

The library is also an information centre with free wifi and toilets. Helpful staff and pleasant surrounds.

It is from here that you can pick up a key (refundable deposit required) and a map for the city walls walk. If you are visiting the town then this walk is a "must" do!

Moving to Denbigh for a short period it was lovely to have so much on our doorstep. Both PT :-) and I are avid readers and we decided to join Denbigh Library to enjoy their offering.
It's a lovely building, quite imposing on the high street and has a whole host of local activities advertised as you walk through the doors. Unfortunately the one book I have requested couldn't be found, but don't let that stop you visiting this little gem of a place.

Even though we live only five miles from Denbigh, I didn't actually know that the history of the building that now houses Denbigh Library goes right back to the sixteenth century until I read the contribution of the American from Delaware here on 'TripAdvisor', though everyone hereabouts knows that it was formerly the old market hall for the town. From the outside it's quite obvious that it's a historic building, but step towards the entrance and electronic doors open automatically for you and you enter a building which is wholly twenty-first century in its lay-out, furnishings and decor. Somehow it all works well, without incongruity.

It's an excellent and well-appointed small town library, complete with comfy armchairs to browse books and daily papers, space for small groups to meet, and plenty of well-used computer terminals available for use. I see that someone's commented about snooty older staff members, but I've not personally found that to be the case. The library's been 'automated' with a sophisticated electronic contraption which enables us locals to check library books in and out without the need to engage with the library staff at all. Quite easy, therefore, to go in and out without speaking to a soul! Maybe technical innovation does sometimes diminish human interaction.

But when browsing for books I regularly hear the staff answering the phones, and all of them, young and old alike, seem to me to be really nice and friendly with the folk phoning in, and well able to engage with them whether in Welsh or in English, as they prefer. I think the library's a real asset to the town.

Love the library itself, great location, great facilities there. Have been going here on and off for years, but have always found the older members of staff incredibly unfriendly. If you smile at the younger ones and say good morning, they respond. If you do the same with the older members, you get a "why are you bothering me" look. Shame, really.

This was built in the 16th Century by Elizabeth's close friend,Robert Dudley,Earl of Leicester and Lord of Denbigh. as well as being a library it is a tourist information centre where you can get local information and maps. There are toilets inside and a small exhibition connected with the explorer H M Stanley, who has a statue outside in front of the entrance.
