My adult children and I took a trip down memory lane on Easter Sunday, this was a place we used to visit when my children were younger. It was good to see that there have been several developments over the years but not spoilt. Lots of covered viewing area's, good for a rainy day! We enjoyed watching the Cheetahs and... More

Really enjoyed my visit to Hamerton, all the staff were friendly and there is a wide selection of animals in a relatively small zoo, will definitely trturn in the near future.

Came here on a dull freezing wet day, and there was plenty of animals to see, loads of species of birds and mammals, there was a small reptile enclosure , didn't manage to see any cheetahs or the tigers probably due to the weather ! (don't blame them) The cafe is a little over priced although we were glad to... More

A small but delightful zoo - well worth a visit. Well-kept and interesting, with some of the lesser known animals, particularly oncillas and rusty spotted cats! Friendly staff, and nice café if a bit basic. Ideal for families. I had a landmark birthday 3 days ago and my daughter bought me a tiger experience at Hamerton. She couldn't have chosen... More

My husband and I felt terribly uncomfortable with the animal conditions at this zoo. The enclosures seems awfully small for the animals especially the cheetahs. It also feels very dirty. The facilities are very basic and as for the food choices, well we chose not to eat there. We feel that the price does not reflect the experience that you... More

After my mission last year to visit 40 animal places, I am now indulging myself by revisiting the places I really enjoyed. And with my tiger-loving mother's landmark birthday this year, I decided a trip to the other side of the country was in order to go back to Hamerton and for mum to do their "Meat the tigers" experience.... We visited Hamerton Zoo for my little boys first birthday, and considering my husband and I have lived in this area our whole lives.. we never even realised this was on our doorstep. Our 1 year old absolutely loved it. All the animals looked really well cared for.. and there was a really good range of animals to see. I... More

Having been to many zoo's over the years but this one whilst much smaller offers the opportunity to get up close to some of the animals. They are in the process of building new enclosures and the use of recycled containers is a very good way to enhance the experience and for 20 odd quid for 2 adults you can't... More

Because of my work schedule we needed somewhere reasonably close to home ( less than an hour ) and were pleasantly surprised at how well laid out the park was . There is quite a variety of animals some we hadn't seen anywhere else . The cafe is too small for the amount of visitors and the toilets could do... More
