    Unlike anything else!
Puy Du Fou is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. They call it an amusement park, but there are no rides, just “experiences” and “spectacles.” We watched in amazement over and over again as each “spectacle” outdid the last. There are terrific performances by both people and animals: raptors, piglets, geese and most notably horses. Gestures are grand and themes are sweeping. Be prepared to immerse yourself in French. The App has explanations, subtitles, and some live voice translations and the staff is very accommodating in English if you need that, but your French needs to be pretty solid. You definitely need the app to navigate the park and get to the shows you want to see. Do plan well, you need to be in line for your chosen spectacles at least 30 minutes before the show starts. And if you want to buy the fast pass (pass emotion) you have to do it well in advance (we were too late to get it). There were people there of all ages, including families, retirees, and people in their 20s. The food throughout the park was also very good. We did two days, which was just right for the two of us and we were glad we had both days. You can’t see all of the spectacles in one day. It’s hard to choose favorites, but the Bal Des Oiseaux Fantomes was one we keep talking about.
Hello, We are delighted to read your many compliments. Our teams do their utmost to amaze all our visitors. Thus, we are glad that the live translations and efforts of our Talents have helped you during your visit. In our constant quest for improvement, we continue to devise solutions to ensure complete immersion, even in a foreign language. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. The Puy du Fou team

Great parc. Come well prepared to get the most out of it.
This is a different amusement park, and a great change from the “common” parks with rides and roller coasters. Different shows, most of them really spectacular, display French, and hence also partly European, history from the days of the Roman empire to the 2d world war. The parking is free and very well organized. Some advice is to examine the programme carefully before you go, so that you know at what time the different shows will take place and give priority to those you find most interesting (don’t miss the birds show!). Then you can fill the time in between with the attractions you can just walk through. The late evening show 'Les Noces de Feu' is well worth waiting for. We came with our teenage children, and that was perfect – this is not really a parc for small kids. One problem was that they don’t know French, and therefore missed some of the stories. But knowing a bit of history, they understood most of it still. We were advised beforehand to bring our own food. That saved us both time and money.
Hi, Thank you so much for writing such a great review! We are really honoured to read that you enjoyed a “perfect” visit enjoying our “spectacular” shows, and appreciating our “well organized” car parks. Our Teams work tirelessly every day to provide you the best experience and they will be pleased to know that their efforts are rewarded with your satisfaction. To enhance the experience of our international visitors, especially children, our main shows are translated into several languages (English, German, Dutch and Spanish). You can access to simultaneous translations through our app (using earphones). We look forward to welcoming you back to Puy du Fou soon! The Puy du Fou Team

    Best place in the world
I have been coming to Puy du fou every year for years. If you are considering going, just do it and don’t look at too much in the internet as it will spoil the surprises in the shows. I think it is better than Disney with cheaper prices and the park actually cares about their audience.
Hello, It’s a great pleasure to read that you come back every year. We hope to see you soon to provide even more surprises. The Puy du Fou team

    Wonderful Place for All Ages
What an amazing place this is. Too much to do in one day though. I loved the Vikings and Le Ballads Des L’Oiseax. ( the dance of the birds) The enactments are so realistic! There were 300 different birds swooping over our heads! You can hire mobility scooters as it goes up quite a steep hill so if you have mobility issues it may be a bit difficult. Well worth the money.

An amazing experience! Spectacular shows illustrating the history of France. The settings and actors are incredible. Le Puy du Fou has won the award for best theme park in the world for several years running and it is totally justified.

Amazing ! (but for French speakers)
The whole park is just amazing, with the highlight being the night shows. Everything is well done, with creative attractions and caring, attentive service - and an extremely good value for money compared to "traditional" theme parks that usually cost double. Of course it is in a remote area of France. The only negative element I can think of is the fact that it is an attraction that caters more to French speakers and foreigners might not get all the benefits of some of the shows.
Hello, We are delighted to read that you enjoyed your time at Puy du Fou! Thank you very much for spending time to highlight the quality of our shows and services. Although most of our visitors are French, our teams are working on making the Puy du Fou as accessible as possible for our foreign time travelers. We hope that you could use our mobile app to get the live translation of our shows, available in English, German, Spanish and Dutch. Be assured that we constantly use our visitors’ feedback to improve the translation services that we offer so that you can fully enjoy the magic of the Puy du Fou. Kind regards, The Puy du Fou team

Absolutely Amazing. Once in a lifetime to experience it.
Honestly I couldn't write anything more to this amazing place that has not been said already...... Just go. We had an a fantastic time here the shows yes all in French were outstanding and while we could understand some parts it really didn't matter we had an amazing time. We are still talking about it.

Fun family day out, suitable for wheelchair users.
There were 10 family members, including myself & on this occasion I required the use of a wheelchair, due to a fractured leg. I have been previously, but this time experienced it from a different perspective. We pre-booked the chair by phone 3 days earlier (cost apx 12 euros) you need to leave your passport as security. Fortunately we had these with us, but it wasn't mentioned over the phone upon booking - that would have been helpful. We were given an emotion pass which allowed 4 of us to enter the arena's from an easier wheelchair friendly point, and a little earlier than the rest of the audience. This was really appreciated. Lots of disabled friendly WCs around too. The day was great, we loved it (again...this was our 2nd visit, but previous visit around 10 years ago). We parked in the disabled area, by asking upon arrival, and the staff removed bollards, to point us in the correct direction, which was much better for me to get into the park, as it was significantly closer. Overall, an excellent day out, that our whole family enjoyed.
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to mention every positive point or remark, following your last trip in time. Any comments are studied and communicated to the teams concerned in order to constantly improve the quality of our performances. See you soon ! The Puy du Fou Team

Amazing day out with high quality entertainment
We spent 2 days visiting Puy Du Fou and had an amazing time. I cannot put into words how this place surpassed our expectations. The shows are of a high quality and the environment is immaculate. Everything is in French but the app works well in the shows to provide simultaneous translation although we could not get it to work in the immersive walk through experiences and it did drop out at times. Although that didn’t detract from our enjoyment of it. Just make sure you have enough battery power on your phone and Some headphones! The app was excellent from the information about the shows, to the translations, the programme generator and directions. We all had an excellent time and our party was mixed ages from 11 to 77. This park has even impressed a sometimes hard to please 16 year old who when we booked it wasn’t sold on a ‘theme park’ with no rides. Now she is planning how she can come back. I would definitely recommend a visit.
Hello, We are delighted to read that your party had such a great time at Puy du Fou ! We are glad that you could enjoy our shows fully thanks to our mobile app and that they took you for an unforgettable time travel. We thank you for your kind words and hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again. Kind regards, The Puy du Fou team

    Fantastic, value for money
5 adults spent day here. Honestly blown away with how good it was. We didn't have emotion pass as these were sold out weeks ago but the queues weren't too bad. The shows are amazing. Only downside was the translation tool on the app was very sketchy and kept glitching which made listening to it impossible most of the time. The stories were fairly easy to follow though and just watching the spectacles was enough. Maybe a suggestion would be to have a short summary of the stories for English people to read in a leaflet rather than trying to follow the audio translations. Id say this is a great place for families with kids older than say 8 as some of the walkthrough stories are quite scary and dark. You could avoid these with little ones though.
Hello, We are happy to read that you had a fantastic time at Puy du Fou! Although we are sorry for the disruption of our translation services you experienced while using our mobile app, we are glad that you still fully enjoyed our fantastic shows. As we are always looking for ways to improve the comfort of our non-French speaking visitors, we will send your suggestions to the dedicated team. While our immersive shows can be indeed quite impressive, we do recommend family-oriented animations, like the garden of Jean de La Fontaine with its speaking animals and beautiful scenery. We hope that we will have the pleasure of welcoming you again. Kind regards, The Puy du Fou team

We spent two days at the park taking advantage of the very convenient motorhome parking just a 10 minute walk away.
The standard of shows was outstanding - water, fire and stunts galore - so much going on it was often difficult to follow all the action. We particularly enjoyed the bird show but the scale of each one made it difficult to actually identify a favourite as such.
I would recommend downloading the app - it makes it much easier to plan which show to go to next and plans your route for you to boot. Lots of picnic areas and benches but also food outlets selling reasonably ( for a theme park) priced simple baguettes and panini etc.

The Puy du Fou is nothing short of the best tourist attraction in France. Unlike anywhere else in Europe, the park is beautiful, food good and value-for-money is solid given the amount of entertainment on offer.

Whilst the park doesn't directly cater for young children (much of the content is geared towards teens/adults), there is plenty to see and do. The park does not "dumb down" history in any way, with incredible stages and theatres which display history in an emotional and beautiful way.

The Cinéscénie is, quite simply, the greatest show on Earth and if you are lucky to have tickets for this in the summer, then you won't regret it. 90 minutes of the most amazing effects, music, and sets.

It’s hard to appreciate how great this park is unless you visit it yourself. The evening show itself is worth the entrance fee - it’s beautiful & spectacular. The teenagers loved Le Signe de Triomphe & Le Mystere de la Perouse is an understated gem - we did it twice.
I’d recommend a two day pass as I doubt you can fit everything in in one day.

Don’t go at the moment if you value your life. Only the barest lip service to COVID regulations. No seats blocked in the shows, no counting the people entering them, no serious attempt to make people respect the obligation to wear a mask or socially distance and that even in indoor shows. Rude answers from other spectators when we kindly asked them to wear a mask to protect their fellow humans. We left after half an hour. And the management immediately reimbursed us. So sad, I have dreamt of going to the puy de fou since I was 16 - and that is quite some time ago.

Hi, We have read your message with attention. Be assured that the safety of our visitors is our highest priority. Since the opening of the 2020 season, we have taken strict measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Wearing a mask is strictly compulsory in all our stands (indoor and outdoor shows) and in all confined spaces. Furthermore, all our stands are disinfected after each show. Flow directions have been set up in our paths and more than 250 hydro alcoholic gel distribution points are located throughout the Grand Parc. We call on the sense of responsibility of each visitor to respect these rules, which are repeated many times by our teams during all the visit. We would like to assure you that we constantly strive to achieve only the highest levels of quality, service and hospitality. Be assured that your comment has been taken into consideration. There isn’t much I can write in this review that hasn’t been said already ……. It is truly incredible with shows that are jaw dropping, polished and highly professional. You won’t do all the big shows in one day and it’s definitely worth spending a bit of time planning your days there (2 for us which was perfect) to ensure you see the best ones. We were there on a Sunday & a Monday and there was a noticeable difference in how many people there were so avoid the weekend if at all possible. You can take food in and I would definitely recommend that over queuing for food that is quite pricey. Also take a cushion to sit on during the shows!
Visiting Puy du Fou was an experience I shall never forget with a bird show that brought me to tears because it was so amazing!!
Enjoy.

We visited on Thursday 18th Aug, it was so horrendously busy, spend most of the day in ques hopeing to atchually get in to see sonething. It cost us over €160 for 2 adults and 2 children. If you wanted to see a show you had the get in the que nearly 90 mins before, which we had to do several times. Even queuing for that length of time you were not garentteed entry to the show as we got cut off and told it was full despite waiting for so long and wasting so much time. Very disappointing. We gave up using the "plan my day" feature on the app very early in the day as we would have not got to do anything.
The ques for food and the toilets were something else as was the amount of people pushing and barging through the ques.
We had a lovely man working at a food kiosk ask us how our day was while waiting for our food, he even said it was far buisier than normal and he was surprised so many people were in.
Don't think we'll be back. :(

Hi, We sincerely regret that your visit to Puy du Fou did not take place in the best conditions. During the summer season, we welcome a larger number of visitors. However, our teams make sure to adapt the number of performances accordingly. Puy du Fou proposes new creations every year to enrich our offer. We advise our visitors to plan at least 2 days of visit in order to discover all our shows and animations with serenity. Be assured that our teams do their very best to reduce waiting time before our shows. We have been visiting the Puy du Fou and the adjoining Cinescenie for the last six years, sometimes twice a year and loved every time we have been. The shows in the Grand Parc are all brilliant, the Cinescenie is breathtaking with the best fireworks in the world. You can catch most of it on YouTube but that is no substitute for being there. Allow at least two days. This year, we fell foul of the latest quarantine problems, just on the weekend we would have been there. Our request for a possible refund was dealt with promptly just a day later. We can’t wait to return to this fabulous place when times are better and in the meantime, thank you to all at the Puy du Fou for your attention, and the many hours of pleasure over the years. See you 2021 (Hopefully)

We went in mid July. Two adults. Two daughters - 7 and 5. This was our second year. Great day. We would go again. Some thoughts below:

Covid: no real attempt at social distancing. No limit on numbers entering the park that we could see. No queue management in place. No spaced seating. But the place was a lot quieter than previous years. So queues were minimal but venues were 80% full so we were very close to others. Masks were require to be worn in events but not walking around. Lots of announcements encouraging masks but no enforcement. Adults generally wearing. Children generally not.

Shows: as good as ever. We saw musketeers, romans, birds, King Arthur, and medieval. Magnificent as ever. The wow of the Roman amphitheater is astonishing. The birds are breathtaking. As the whole thing was so much less crowded than previous years it felt like a real treat. Staff and performers all excellent.

Animals: we are not vegans, anti animals in sport etc people. But we felt uncomfortable with the lions in the romans show. The female lions looked scared. The male lion looked underfed. The show would have been great without big cats. It’s illegal now in the U.K. Tjme for Puy du Fou to move on.

An amazing experience throughout, from the high quality of every show (including for my non french-speaking husband thanks to the interpretation available on the app) to the crafts on display, the well thought-out and maintained parc, the many animals which all look perfectly cared for and the ever friendly team. 2 days was perfect to enjoy the entire visit without feeling rushed. The campervans area works well, about 10 minutes walk or 2 minutes bike ride from the entrance. We didn’t buy the « pass emotions » but we went on week-days so the queues were ok. I’d suggest heading to the bigger shows (Le signe du triomphe and Les vikings) 45 minutes ahead of start time, 30 minutes for the rest. Le bal des oiseaux fantômes which showcases 300 birds of pray was an absolute highlight, and the playlists (all on Spotify!) have allowed us to take some of the magic home.

Our family of four went to this full of expectation, having paid around €180 for the privilege. Having failed to gain entry to three shows, we finally got to see the knights of the round table after a long queue in the sun. The show itself was spectacular indeed but we simply couldn’t face queuing on an attempt to get into another as the average queue times appeared to be between 60 and 90 mins for the main attractions. Sadly therefore, a waste of a days holiday and a lot of money.
