We booked this place randomly in a rainy night whilst camping nearby. The landlord was helpful and accommodating, even allowing my daughter to taste the ham before ordering as we were not sure whether she would like it.

The price of sirloin steak was £13.99 which was very reasonable and it tasted lovely along with all the other meals that we had. The drinks were also a reasonable price

The landlord was also proactive in putting the log fire on which was lovely and there was a pool table to use.

Would 100% recommend this place to visit and eat

went there for afternoon roast dinner, the plate was overloaded, the vegetables, well there was so much on my plate, it put me off, it had also gone cold and mooshy, the meat, there was so much of this, really put me off, not appetising. the dished are already plated.not good. The write up does not resemble the pub.

Came here for lunch (family of 4) as we were staying at a caravan park not too far away. We decided to sit outside as it was sunny. Barmaid finished serving the customers and c

Lady serving was friendly. She took our orders and food was brought out within about 10mins. Food tasted fresh and was enjoyed by all.

Located down a small windy country road. Would recommend if nearby.

Our starters came at different times, we were told they had run out of gas so it took over an hour just to get our starters. The dinners came out in dribs and drabs and the steaks were tough. We were then informed that there was no ham because the dog had eaten it. The beer was warm, there was no draft coke so pints of coke were expensive. In the end a couple of us didn’t even eat. The barmaid was argumentative and rude which topped by far the worse dining experience we’ve ever had.

Fantastic friendly little pub with good food. Always happy to cater for me even if they haven't got a vegetarian meal advertised. Lovely garden for a drink in the sun. Highly recommend their aftertoon tea. Fantastic value for money!

This was a chance find, we were looking for somewhere for lunch that would allow a dog in the pub.
This really is the traditional friendly, welcoming country pub with great beer.
The landlord, Trevor, is a great host, nothing is too much trouble, and the Sunday Roast is good traditional home cooking and really good value.
We will certainly be going back whenever we’re in the area and if you are anywhere near I recommend making the effort to visit.

Firstly, what is going on??? The staff have no idea bless them but they are friendly can’t fault them for that. The landlord looked scruffy, but who am I to judge just saying it wasn’t professional expectations go along way. Especially on Sunday service,

The bar had hardly no stock, landlord was using tinned beers instead of the pumps, didn’t have much on the shelf’s, sadly the pub needs a good clean, the salt and pepper pots, was absolutely grim! Needed a good clean, and topping up, empty pepper and salt pots, didn’t like the fact you have to collect your cutlery like your back in school at school dinners, the menus wasn’t clean all stained with food marks on. Wasn’t keen on the tablets wrapped in some plastic sticky cover stapled to the wood, as goes for the food, myself and my wife had roast dinner, firstly the portion size wasn’t great, they even forgot to put gravy on the plate, was missing Yourskire pudding, my wife was missing roast potatoes she only had 2 on her plate, it wasn’t the best but they was rather placed on there toes! They should have a booking book and make sure they don’t take on more than they can chew. Because there wasn’t enough seating area for those wanting to eat or booked! You need a extra pair of hands on the bar, someone in the dining area seating people making sure everything runs smoothly as possible, and most probably extra pair of hands in the kitchen because for the price of the roast I was disappointed. It was almost like they just want the money no pride in the place, really disappointing to be honest. Such a shame never mind hope they sort things out

Whilst out for our Sunday walk we popped in for a drink but after seeing all the plates of food coming past us we decided to have the Sunday roast and all I can say is WOW.
A choice of Beef, Pork, Lamb Shank, Half a Chicken...We opted for the Beef which just melted in our mouth and soooo much of it too..Absolutely delicious, hats of to the Chef... For a little pub where it was situated it was very busy..We ended up staying for a couple of hours enjoying the Sun and watching the Chickens in their pen in the garden and listening to the music. The staff were really friendly and polite..Our young waitress was kept on her toes..A very nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon ....We will definitely be returning after noting the hours of business...
