Wonderful history

Have taken several courses in painting run by Stoke City Council. The venue, teachers and students were amazing. It was one of the best activities I ever tried.

A Once-Great Art College
Nov 2017 • Couples
Went here to view an Art Exhibition, in which a friend was exhibiting.

Whilst it was great looking at the different paintings and art, on the other hand it was a bit sad to see what this once-great Art College where the likes of Clarice Cliff attended had come to. Terribly run down.

Queen street houses both the school of art and the Wedgwood institute. One would be knockout but the two together are out of this world.
Stylish building with loads of appeal- the best in architecture and missed of you just pass through Burslem without realising what is in Queens Street.
Helpfully provided with external information board.
Makes you realise that Burslem has something to be proud of.

Art exhibition
Jun 2017 • Friends
I was told that this is an important and historic building in Burslem. We saw a nice art exhibition inside and I believe it hosts other exhibitions too. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

We visited a few weeks ago to see a local art exhibition that is now being shown at Burslem (used to be at Keele University). The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. I am not sure what other exhibitions they are holding but I am glad it is still being used, it was the art school that Arthur Berry attended , a local artist, called the potteries Lowry.

An Archtectural Gem

The Burslem school of art is an iconic building in the centre of Burslem. It hosts exhibitions of art, photography, sculpture and other things. Entry is normally free, so it is certainly worth a look round to see the building itself.
