We parked in the main car park in Gothland at a charge of £3 for the day, there is a map of the area where the little parade of shops are and the sign for the walk is clearly marked by the side of the...More
Parking was on grass verge on side of the road which was plentiful. The path is well sign posted to the side of the hotel. The path has quite steep stone steps in places but there are several benches along the route. The last 30m...More
What we thought was going to be a gentle riverside walk turned out to be disastrous. The walk was a fairly steep path with numerous steep steps and then having reached the river found we had to scramble over slippery rocks to get a glimpse of...More
Even our teens enjoyed it at Mallyan Spout. Fairly easy to navigate - just a bit slippy. Take waterproof shoes for paddling in the stream. Lots of lovely photo opportunities. A long walk down (seems longer up!). Follow the pathway to the right of the...More
The walk starts easy walking down steps but gets harder as you get nearer, the last few meters involves scrambling over large wet boulders, some people left disappointed because they couldn't manage them

The walk is about 3Km ,from the Mallyan spout hotel, its all down hill, but a rough and uneven pathway ,at the bottom, there is a short walk to the waterfall, but, you have to climb over the rocks and it can be slippery, very uneven for the old/young .. if you take the easy pathway from the carpark in Goathland , there is a bit of up and down walking to get to the waterfall, but again the most difficult part is around the falls themselves ,, hope this helps ,but its well worth the walk .
