Stunning, beautiful wide beach. Great for swimming and walking. So much shade to. 10 minute drive from Samara and sooo much nicer.
I know one reviewer talked about garbage but we went every day for two weeks and never saw any. Coming back next year.

One of the most beautiful beaches in the country, almost 2.5 km of sand that divides the sea from the palm trees under which you can find shade for you and your car (necessary to get here). I think that the administrators' choice not to grant any permission for any permanent activity proved successful. If you can bring a small cooler and a hammock to tie between the palm trees, you will have a pleasant day and enjoy an unforgettable sunset.

One of our favorites! We were staying 5 minutes away so we had a chance to visit a few times. Picturesque, wide & long fine sandy beach with plenty of elbow room. Playing in the waves was fun! We had a picnic, walked the beach, napped under the palm trees (watch out for the coconuts) and it’s a perfect beach to watch beautiful sunsets. Do not underestimate the heat…the sand can get really hot too! Lots of trees for shade and no shortage of parking along the beach. Bring your supplies as there are no restaurants around although we saw some food & drink carts closer to the south end. Also at the south end is where you’ll find the observation points. There are steps to get to the top where you can appreciate the full view of the beach and stairs leading down to the beach.

This is a beautiful beach ! It is a wide beach. The water is beautiful, very clear. No rocks so barefoot is fine. The beach is lined with palm trees so you can find shade. On sundays you can rent a beach chair and canopy from one of the locals (who also frequent this beach). There are no facilities so bring water and snacks. Vendors sometimes do come around with coconuts , ceviche and other homemade goods.
We saw a few boats bring snorkelers at the end of the beach towards samara and plan to swim there from the end of the beach before we leave
This beach is a hidden gem if you like beautiful beaches, sun, and sea and can bring your own blanket and water. We have been there 2x this week and will be back before we leave.

Dennis, the proprietor of Hotel Esperanza, sent us to Romero who for $20 set us up with chairs, a bench, table, and a tent on a nearly deserted stretch of beach. It's a great spot for some easy body surfing. Wow!

Fabulous beach - one of the best for chillin' I've ever been to.
No development behind the beach just the road.
Sunbeds with a gazebo are for hire at about £7 for the whole day. Food and drink vendors peddle up and down the road behind to keep you fed and watered

This is an incredibly long stretch of beach and despite having the main road/highway run the full length of it, you really don't notice the traffic. There is plenty of shade from the palm trees but also plenty of sun as the beach is quite deep. We felt very safe while in the water swimming. It is worth stopping at this beach.

We had been to this beach many times as it is the best beach in the area. Good for families with kids as the depth increases gradually and the waves are manageable. Very long, with fine sand, not too busy even during the weekends.

We had two wonderful days at this beach. We walked along Playa Samara, starting from Cangreja, to the fishermen's area at the other end of the beach. From there, we followed a short dirt road to the main highway, turned right and 400 metres later were at Playa Carrillo. It is a huge, beautiful beach with much less people on it than Playa Samara. The water is a little bit cooler so refreshing, with less of a surf than Samara. In the rivers at both ends of the beach you can see crocodiles close up. There are no services on this beach that we saw, so bring what you need with you.

While visiting Samara, we decided to drive to the nearby beach town and discovered Playa Carrillo which is about 4 miles south of Samara. This beautiful quiet and nice beach tucked away in a cove away from crowds was definitely peaceful. While driving around, we discovered Naambu Bungalows so we went in and asked to see a few of their rooms. They showed us a beautiful room with a stunning view of the beach so we decided to spend a few nights. It was a perfect few days of retreating in “paradise”!
