Overview
More
It is the deepest canyon in Europe, and second deepest in the world after the Grand Canyon of Colorado, USA. 78km long, and up to 1.300m deep, this "tear of Europe", as it is also called, is a great natural and tourist attraction not only in the area, but in the entire country.

Whether the Tara Canyon deserves the label Biggest in Europe is debatable; but its an attractive place non the less I took a 200km circuit through the Tara Canyon and the highlands of Montengro. There may not be many historical sights on this route but...More

Lovely to lookout, but to really experience it I strongly suggest you spend the money and raft it. ....which we did and thoroughly enjoyed.

Experienced this amazing canyon on the way from Kolasin to Zabljak. The bridge is spectacular. Did a bit of zip lining, rafting in the cold clear water.

Stunning drive just to get there, and the canyon itself was beautifully serene (except for the rapids). Worth making your way into the country to experience it.

Great view, it was a bit foggy but cleared up....approx. 20 minutes drive from Zabjak, narrow streets through woods..
