- xxinxxKuala Lumpur, Malaysia10 contributionsA good place to chillFamily-friendly beach, lots of eateries and pack with activities during the day. Night life is pretty chill here and lasts until midnight. Bike and bicycle rental are provided at a reasonable price. It's a better travelling option than driving because parking bays around the area are limited, by late evening the place is very crowded so do come early if you travel by car. Food is abundant here, but alcoholic drinks are available at certain eateries only. Local food is just okay but quite pricey compared to other places in Langkawi. If you want to try local delicacies, go to small restaurants/stalls just outside of Cenang Beach where you can taste authentic local dishes at a cheaper price.Visited January 2020Written February 16, 2020
- TweedieAscot, United Kingdom228 contributionsLovely long beach with beach bars and restaurants.Great long beach with a sort of boardwalk along it which means you can walk without getting your feet sandy especially at night. It is lit all the way along with beach bars and music and fire entertainers in the dark evenings. You should go! Magical!Visited February 2020Written March 4, 2020
- Leen272 contributionsCenang Beach Langkawi ❤Cenang Beach was one of the Beautiful and clean beach at Langkawi. I didn't stay around Cenang area and have to take a grab to travel there, many of my friends shared is a great place to visit. The beach is so beautiful, clean and there is so many water sport around. I went during the day time and weather was so hot and I end up went to the nearby cafe and took a rest after taking some pictures at the beach. Along the Cenang beach there are some shops, restaurants, cafe and SPA too. There is also a Cenang Mall located near the cenang beach. I missed the sunset time and I will definitely go back again.Visited January 2020Traveled soloWritten January 27, 2020
- Angela AKuala Lumpur, Malaysia71 contributionsLovelyYou have to see the sun setting on this beach, it is very lovely and the sand on this beach is the finest I have ever seen and super soft. If you are into water sports, you can get a lot to entertain you with for a handsome fee of course. I would definitely recommend if only for you to go see the sun setting, lovely.Visited December 2019Written January 1, 2020
- Laylan GSingapore, Singapore368 contributionsBig white sandy beach with fantastic sunsetIt is a hugh beach with nothing much to do unless you are very keen with the water activities which quite pricey to me. The day time is absolutely very hot if it is not a rainy day, the water is not the clean & clear compared to Koh Lipe but it is still all right if you would like to swim but no clean & clear water for your information. There are restaurant along the beach that run by the hotels. Nothing fanciful. Perhaps maybe it will be more exciting after sunset as some restaurant set up the dinning tables on the beach. There are some fire show around perform by the local, it is not free coz they will collect money from you if you are standing within thier audience boundary. Well stay away if you are not feeling to chip in.Visited March 2023Written April 8, 2023
- ShreekalaHampi, India40 contributionsBeautiful beach - lovely to spend time hereIt's a great and clean beach. Lots of activities in the evening. It's fun to just sit down and have a beer in the evening. Lots of water sports to choose from. It's says 120 MYR on their price list but we got each parasailing for 60 MYR per person .Visited January 2020Traveled with familyWritten January 3, 2020
- Κωνσταντίνος ΔAthens, Greece3,984 contributionsThe Cenang Beach (Pantai Cenang) Langkawi is one of the best in Langkawi. The Cenang Beach (Pantai Cenang) in Langkawi, Malaysia, is one of the best beaches on the Island of Langkawi (Pulau Langkawi), situated on the western part of the island (Cenang Township), and about 10 Km from Langkawi International Airport. The Cenang Beach is a very nice beach with white powdery sands, clear waters and plenty of water sports to enjoy (e.g. water skiing, parasailing, etc.). The Cenang Beach is a picturesque strip with an alleyway on the upper part of it for nice walking (during day or night, avoiding the sand), with beautiful sunset, perfect for sunbathing (with sunscreen, as the sun is very hot) and for swimming when the tide waves are favorable (e.g.in the morning). On the beach you can have drinks and cocktails (not all serve alcohol) and some happenings and shows (e.g. fire shows) and you can dance until late in the night. Cenang Beach is the busiest and liveliest part of the island of Langkawi and sometimes is a bit crowded. Also there are a lot of restaurants, bars, hotels, souvenir shops, duty free shops (selling alcohol and chocolates) next to the beach (or the main street) and this makes Cenang beach the most interesting beach of Cenang Township and on the whole Island of Langkawi. I liked my holidays on the Cenang Beach (Pantai Cenang) on the Island (Pulau) of Langkawi and I would like to return after the Coronavirus Pandemic.Visited February 2020Written April 26, 2020
- infomalaysia231 contributionsSlowly losing its Originality but still a Popular bechAfter visiting Langkawi for over 30 years, I have seen this beach go from beautiful to over-crowded and then now with Covid, back to beautiful. I wish the government would put a stop to the development around here so that the beach will not be overcrowded. But this place still attracts general tourists.Visited July 2020Written May 22, 2021
- Stephen Browne37 contributionsGood vibe at night time into sunset, lots to do during the dayProbably the second best beach after Tanjung Rhu, but not far off it. They run jetski tours, parasailing and other water sports but be careful that you select a reputable company. It is a good spot to watch the sunset if you like seeing it set over the water, the beach front is packed with resorts and restuarants so you can get a nice view as you eat a meal and then at night time there's fire dancers and sometimes music playing. Chilled place to hang out.Visited January 2020Written January 20, 2020
- Charlotte LeongMalaysia4 contributionsBeautiful SunsetJust buy a fresh coconut from a mini bar for RM7.50 and rest yourself on a rattan carpet and a bean bag chair under coconut trees. You can even see squirrels running around. It is one of the best spot in Langkawi to watch the sunset. Unfortunately, I can still see garbage and cigarette butts on the beach. Hope the authorities and the locals could do more to prevent people from littering (it is very sarcastic as some local workers would just simply throw their cigarette butts on the beach). Anyway how, it is still a place where you can enjoy yourself with great view and fun water sports.Visited February 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten March 3, 2020

Cenang beach is beautiful, it’s well looked after, clean and free of rubbish. An excellent public toilet half way along probably helps. There are many operators along the beach selling sunloungers and umbrellas (70R) and parasailing (300R each) as well as JetSki, kayak and other adventures. The beach really comes to life for sunset

Watersports, beach games, beach bars, hotel by the beach, seashells lining the beach for your picking, these are not the only attraction.
If you loves sunset (not during monsoon season), you can watch it here and on a good day, it will be spectacular. It's golden rays fills the sea and shells on the beach.
A surprise attraction was the "beach buskers". They performed some incredible stunts with flaming baton, flaming balls and flaming cannon. This was just after sunset.

There were many people on the beach but not as many as previous years - due to the restricted movement control order to contain the Covid-19 pandemic. Anyway I loved it because it was less congested.
Restaurants, bars, duty-free shops and massage parlours were everywhere along the beach so it was very convenient though.
Perhaps in the future, when the pandemic has subsided, I hope the something can be done to make the beach happening again.

Beach was nice and clean. Plenty of watersport available but don’t book anything from this watersport service, HMI Watersports.
They have a booth in Pantai Cenang. The moment you entered Pantai Cenang from carpark, a guy from that company will come to approach you. We booked parasailing and jetski from them (made online payment) but unable to do the jetski due to rain.
They closed the booth and mentioned they will refund to us in the call. No refund have been made in the end.
There are plenty of watersport booth in Pantai Cenang. Try others!
P.s the true cost of watersport is >50% lesser than what listed on the board. Avoid this watersport provider!

Lovely stretch of fine soft sand which was fairly clean. Lots of cafes but only 3 selling alcohol along the whole stretch of beach. This was very disappointing as a foreign visitor and only half a dozen places to buy drinks in the whole resort.
The “Langkawi” sign has been removed from the south end of the beach and there is a large construction site in the making. This was noisy all day and is likely to be there for years as they are building three large towers. This will certainly change the views.
Sea was cloudy and overall the resort is scruffy and seems to be in a transitional phase which will probably ruin the original charm.
Glad I visited but probably won’t return.

I keep coming back to Cenang for holidays year after year! Its a perfect place to charge my batteries and log off from stressful city life. Local people are friendly and not pushy like in some areas in Thailand or Bali. The parking beside the road is a mess, but who is in hurry anyway when on holiday. :)

This beach is stunningly beautiful. It's a long, wide white sand beach with lots of places to eat/drink, both on the beach and also in the resort which you can cut through to from the beach at lots of places. The beach was never particularly busy even over the Chinese New Year when we were there, there was only one end which was busier over the two days.

No plastic or other trash was visible as I walked the lenght of the beach. The sand felt soft under my bare feet and oil spils were not frequent. The muddy water, same colour as the huge jellyfish doesn't invite to swim. Several budget restaurants line the area and start serving food at four o'clock.

The beach is clean with local food shacks along side. Not many venture into water but prefer water sports instead. The water is a little muddy on this beach and we also heard of jelly fish bites on this beach. We did go into the water albeit very carefully. Evenings are very happening with lot of people sitting on bean bags and enjoying their drinks and food. Some shacks entertain them with fire plays. We enjoyed our walks along the beach both in the mornings and evenings. Avoid daytime due to the humid and heat.

Located in the busiest town of Langkawi. Compared to other beautiful beaches in Langkawi, people tend to visit here since there are many shops and restaurants located in this area. At the same time, this is a great place to have a walk and enjoy the beautiful sunset view in the evening.

Are families with children welcomed in the bars along the beach. We were looking forward sunset drinks whilst the kids can enjoy the beach.

hi, no problem as the law is very relaxed and all the bars on the beach are very open so you will find you are practically sitting on the beach and they all have food so to ban children would not make economical sense and they all have good WiFi so once you are logged in you can return and automatically logged in and watch the sunset. i have travelled to most of the world and this beach and the island itself is by far the best and that beats the Caribbean. the only one that comes close is tioman island. just writing this i want to return which i have promised myself.

I assume you want to do this whilst you use the beach, so I would suggest you go to the main road that runs parallel to the beach and ask there. I am pretty sure there are facilities there.
