When we say Dhoni, the first picture that comes into our mind is the six that he hit against Kulasekara to win the World Cup for India. But for people in Palakkad, Kerala, India there could be something else that come to their mind if they hear the word “Dhoni”… Dhoni, is a waterfall, in the midst of a forest,... More

Dhoni is a forest reserve.. No foods are available or are allowed to carry inside.. Plastics are prohibited.. One of the disappointments at dhoni is it is not open on all days and entry prohibited after 3 pm mostly coz of elephant attacks..apart from it is one of the best places to chillout..the trekking experience is great..take the shortcuts..its more... Dhoni water falls is situated in the Dhoni hills, palakkad. This is a must visit place for travelers visiting Palakkad town and malampuzha. Here we can enjoy the scenic beauty of nature in full ambiance.

I had visited this place just before the onset of harsh summer in January 2015. Planning to go again soon after monsoons. Dhoni trek begins from the foothills where you need to get permission from the Forest check post. You can reach Dhoni by frequent bus services. If you are driving up, the approach itself offers plenty of landscape views.... More

The Trek to falls was more thrilling with snakes on the way and fear of a lone elephant who had destroyed many huge trees on the way, made it more interesting. What more would you ask for !!! A tiger ?? , may be next time.
