About
Crosswell Riding Stables is a Licensed Riding and Trekking Centre which has been established for over 25 years. Nestling in the shadow of the Preseli hills in the heart of the undiscovered Pembrokeshire National Park you will find Crosswell Riding Stables, where the atmosphere is relaxed and informal and the views and scenery are stunning. We offer riding for all abilities and offer treks and lessons. All lessons are in an enclosed sand school and trekking is varied between woodland trails and the surrounding mountain ranges.

My family and I were staying at Seaview Cottage in St Dogmaels and fancied doing something different on holiday, and we were recommended Crosswell Riding Stables. We are all relative beginners and my sons age 18 & 20 yrs had never even sat on a horse !
We had a beautiful, gentle ride through woodland and for the five of us, there were three guides with us, so we felt completely safe at all times. We were out riding for just over an hour but I believe this is very flexible to suit individuals.
The riding was excellent value for money, very well organised and the ladies riding as out guides were very reassuring. I would highly recommend this trip and also our stay at Seaview Cottage.

We were booked in for a half hour lesson followed by 1.5 hour ride through the woods but sadly due to the weather it had to be cancelled. Carolyn was fab at rearranging and doing her best given our time frame so we had a half hour lesson then half hour ride a day or so later. It was utterly fabulous, friendly staff and amazing horses. The time was thoroughly enjoyed and was good value. Highly recommend and if we lived closer we would definitely visit more often.

Was on holiday in the area for just a week and my 12 year old daughter went for two 2 hour hacks in the week. She enjoyed them both immensely. Great value, the horses are clearly well looked after and the staff are all super-friendly and helpful. The hacks themselves were both different, over varied terrain. One was just herself and lead rider (Amber?). Despite being caught out under a tremendous thunderstorm and downpour, she felt safe on the pony (Pie or Pye?) and loved it. The second she rode Tiggy and this time with a group of “older ladies” who despite the age gap and them knowing each other they made my daughter feel very welcome. She particularly enjoyed cantering! A real big shame is that we don’t live in the area as we would be regulars. Thoroughly recommend Crosswell Riding Stables to anyone...

A riding stables that inspires and develops the children's confidence in themselves and the horses. Carolyn, Sarah and all the lovely young helpers provide a relaxed, and welcoming setting for lessons or treks. In chatting to other parents there it seems that I'm certainly not the only one who recognises Carolyn's wonderful teaching ability. Lessons here have become the highlight of our daughter's week !

My two teenage daughters had 2 treks out with Sarah from the stables. They visited a nearby woods and were able to canter and ride to meet their abilities (as they had several years experience each). The weather was awful on both occasions but they had a fabulous time and loved every minute. Horses were well looked after and stables clean and organised. Will definitely come back here!

As an experienced rider just a bit rusty I always try and find a stables when i am on holiday to have a hack out. So glad I found Crosswell Stables, Carolyn was so helpful, friendly and puts you at your ease immediately. I had an hours ride out with a really nice couple of girls and a group leader, we all got on and had a lovely chat and laugh. Horses are clearly well looked after and the stable was very tidy. i will be going back again when I next holiday in St Davids.
Carolyn has also written a book about a pony through lockdown, well worth a read and all the proceeds help out with carrots for the horses. Stables need all the help we can give them after the lean times during the pandemic!

We would both recommend Crosswell Riding Stables to anyone. We are reasonably used to riding out with experienced riders, but the lovely people at Crosswell, are exceptionally helpful and reassuring.
We took a beach ride with them last Autumn (September 2019) and had the ride of our lives. So much so, that we aim to ride out with them as many times as we can afford during our holiday to Pembrokeshire in April.
Happy horses, great people, totally recommend.

We've been going here in the holidays for years, from lessons and the excellent fun days for children to a 4 hour hack for adults. The team are always charming and the ponies well looked after. Safety appears well-considered. The hacks are beautiful; from the shortest half hour on a lead rein we've worked up to 2 hour family rides. It was great for my kids to be able to come out of the riding school and into the countryside and such good value that I could go too. Wonderful to be able to enjoy rides together.

Absolutely fantastic riding stables. I've been coming here for 15 years it is always the highlight of my year! Whether it's pub rides, treks through the woods or a jumping lesson I always enjoy myself! The horses and staff are equally fantastic and I can never help myself from booking another ride!

I'm sorry, I don't know but there are quite a number of horses/ponies available and Carolyn is expert at matching the size and strength of the horse to the needs of the rider. I'm sure a phone call to the stables would elicit a swift reply - she's very prompt if not immediately available.
