Fronalpstock is one of the two main peaks accessible at Stoos. You can hike up or take the chairlift (25 CHF return ticket + 5 CHF deposit, return the card to get back the deposit). It is relatively uncrowded as compared to other popular attractions...More

It’s always fun to ride in a chairlift. This one ... or rather two ....has hard clear plastic screens which drop over you down nearly to your feet so that you’re protected from an inclement weather. Stunning views greet you from the top. There are...More

I would recommend taking the gondola up to Fronalpstock and hiking the ridge, then taking the gondola down. We did the whole thing which was about 6 hours, but do not regret it. The views were stunning and the hike is worth it!

This spot is a bit complicated (and like everything in Switzerland, expensive) to get to. You can take the train to Schwyz and take the funicular up to Stoos, or take the train to Morschach and the bus to the other side of the mountain...More

First and foremost are the views. Viewing platform is good. The lakes look wonderful as do the mountains in the background. I got there by using the Stoosbahn to the town Stoos. The town is small and beautiful. The trip from Stoosbahn station to Fronalpstock...More

This was the best day of our trip. We took the train from Lucerne to Schwyz, bus to Stoos and then caught the sky cable car to the top of Fronalpstock for the most beautiful view. We caught lunch at the restaurant there (not spectacular,...More

HI, did you get an answer to this? I'm trying to work out the exact same thing, they couldn't figure it out in the Tourist office either - I suspect that the cable is closed
